Don't bother with the BOC 'Championship'. Did it for 2 seasons & have found much better (& fairer) competitions around. Have a look at

Vixens do well.....
Thx, looks like a good championship and the regs are much better. However for me a key criteria is being local as I don't want to travel more than 50 miles to compete.

Sorry, no. The fasteners on the main caps are OE. It's yours to do as you wish, just trying to help you get more out of the motor than a few days out.

D.

Thought you meant the Con Rod bolts David.
Mains were new std at last build.
I dare say the replacement mains will be ARP along with a great deal of other internal changes. Then again the Mains never failed….The con rod spun the bearing.

Best to build it to last within your budget, but when it comes to internals and fastener I do not skimp as you can not see what is happening with out dropping the sump.
I/we would go to the track to race, and not have to over wrench on things that could be sorted at the shoppe.
Best,
D.

There won't be much of the original engine being used next time around David. This engine has always had a History and the last repair was simply that.. A repair to get the car out..That said the engine has performed quite well with some races and extensive testing under its belt…It was always known that the next time it came out it would be for the full treatment its done 2 good years of hard use so no complaints really. There is also another fresh block in the wings for something even more special but that will be a longer term project. This one will just go back together with some new parts and a sensible rev limit and power output for another season before it becomes a spare.

If you do compete in any BOC Championship, aim to come nearly last in the first meeting at Prescott, then a slight improvement throughout the season. That way you won't fall foul of the target times handicapping system.
When events are at other venues, DO NOT go quickly in the morning as the target times are based on these.

That's why the algorithm based Classic Marques is so much fairer.Oh, & it's much more fun too. The TVRCC Speed Champs use the same algorithm too.
