Basically 100 C is still closer to the actual temperature than 120 C was prior to the change of sensors. Not to mention my engine has been modified, bored, racing cam, direct ignition, triple weber 40DCNF setup and a straight up vertical radiator and avg RPM 4 to 5 K normal cruising speeds.

And while some point out problems and offer no solutions, many members offer practical solutions that work well and help us closer to our goal. And their efforts are much appreciated and valued.

my 3000S runs always just above 90° on temp gauge. Clean rad, new thermostat, new correct temp sender, new voltage stabiliser, imho this seems normal

The sender on mine is SNB106 which fits straight in and works fine with the gauge if that's any help.

again: my scimitar (which arent the best in terms of cooling) run with 85degrees, maybe 88 in a hot summer with a bog-standard, but well maintained, cooling system.

100 is definately too high

anyway...the most important question here, is: 100 on the gauge are 100 in reality??

hmmm...dont agree...a well working gauge (no matter which brand) will always show the correct temperature...not an estimation which might be 15degrees higher or lower.

buy this one, install it and report:

if its still the same you have a cooling problem.

Adrian, you are right on the money. Driving home with headlights on, water temp gauge read slightly hotter than running with the headlights off. Difference slight, but visible.
