Could anyone advise please.

Has anyone actually weighed a race Vixen (xflow) with full roll over cage.

I am about to send off my French race passport and need to fill in the box on the application form, the problem is the weighing scales at my local farm coop are broken and will not be rectified in the near future.

I just need an approximate figure for now, I will be able to use the scruteneering scales at the first meeting and amend the document then.

Here some road car masses:

For a racer with a roll cage I would say 750kg would be a near estimate.

I'm sure some people will come along with actual race car masses.

That's very impressive Pete - presume it is a lightweight shell? Quite a bit lighter than my Grunter in FIA trim!

Hi Dave hope you are well

My shell is lighter than Neil (My body that is laugh) The Magnesium case with dog gearbox internals lost 15Kgs & The alloy diff helps plus some other bit's.

It should be less than a Grantura as the lump is lighter and as with Pete's you can run ally box etc. Most Granturas are 700-740 kgs but one out there is on the homologation limit of 600 kgs.

Feel quite smug with my 790 kilo 3000M now smile

Albeit with very few homologation type restrictions to getting there.....

Hmmm, mine must be morbidly obese then. 700 kgs I get but how on earth do you get to 600 kgs without going way outside of what is allowed within homologation?

Very trick thin light bodies…….Placcy cars are the total opposite of steel. the older they get the heavier they become smile

600KG though must be ally and titanium everything, CDS thin walled chassis, Mag ally wheels, gearbox and diff.

I may cut some excess threads off before the start of the season and go for a few runs hehe

Car weight loss comes in strange places. A bit of thought and its relatively easy to loose 20 kg from a car that's not already been on a diet. Might involve work that you consider isn't worthwhile after weighing the driver, but some if those could quite easily loose 20 kg....
