Here is a picture of it in its original livery.....Previous to me, former owner Mr Simpson driving it hard!
I had the Taimar for about seven years, but it had no history when I bought it, and the pack of receipts you received is probably all my history, which amounted to maintenance. I never had any major problem with it. I purchased the car in its present colour from John Waggit of Specialist Sportscars in Yorkshire as a re-commissioning project in 2006, it still has the sticker in the rear window. He will probably know more early history.
I am glad it has turned up and has a good home!
Steve Darvill (SD Autotec) probably worked on the car and will probably remember it. Give him a call.
As did Hexham and Harrogate Horseless Carriages

At Harewood Hillclimb in April 1988, alongside a car John knows even better now. I take it the vendor didn't tell you it had never been raced or rallied...

I'm inconsolable, I was told it was only used on dry Sunday's for the church commute and Mon-Sat was for polishing it in the garage !
I'm all for cars being driven, far better than restoring to a standard whereby owners are too afraid go use them.
Having said that if anyone has pics o! my car being used at Santa Pod with a big block V8 sticking out of a hole in the bonnet...please don't post them here

Hi all, just came across this thread and impressed by source of knowledge for m series classics and their whereabouts...does anyone know the current whereabouts of jpe103v? Silver Taimar with burgundy model band that I owned from 1985 until 1989?? Cheers, Lee.

According o the DVLA the car is not taxed at present and hasn't been since 1st May 1990. It doesn't say the the car is SORNed or exported either so it looks like it might have been either laid up, changed plate or maybe written off shortly after you sold it.

That isn't a car I recall, and I always thought a burgundy band would look good on a silver Taimar so would probably remember it as I bought a plain silver Taimar in 1990. There was a factory car with a burgundy roof but I think that was earlier, maybe S reg.

Hi All, sorry AureliusTVR, I don't mean to butt-in or hijack this thread, but I also bought a Taimar just last week. It's only a few numbers away from Andrew Gray's 3000S on the registration plate. I'd love to find out a little more about it's early years. The guy I purchased it from had the car since 1982 so I know its recent past. What intrigued me that the first owners were Levis Strauss Ltd of Kensington high street. If anyone knows anything about the car or has any old photos I'd love to hear.

Thanks very much

John

So coincidentally, the white Vixen next to CLO, was the car we owned before FHG102S

Hi Lee, nice to hear from you, hope all is well with you. Last time I saw you was at a TVR Sunday meet at Wadhurst station, that was many moons ago! Lovely shot of your old Taimar btw. Really like that colour combo. So are you after another one then?

Cheers
John

Maybe....I saw the red Taimar on tvrcc web site. Fancy another but possibly rosy tinted specs..I'm not really a spanner man. I've got a couple of lovely classic bikes though. I'm back living in Wadhurst after a stint living abroad. Let me know if you're in the area. I would love to meet up and ogle the new TVR!!! I have a fab local "the old vine" in Cousley wood. Best, Lee.

Hi John
I believe Like mine it would have been supplied by Checkered Flag dealership in Cheswick and registered in the january of 79 although built 78 i think i would presume that all the CLO reg cars would have come out of the same dealership but thats only surmising
