Can anyone confirm the dimensions for original servo fitted to the 1600M, replacements seem to be an inch in diameter smaller unless mine had been previously changed.

So did i, but after getting this:

http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-218072

it appears the new one's are being made smaller, unless mine was never TR6 to start with.

Weird as my my brake master cylinder is definatly TR6

Early 1600Ms were TR6 servo and master not sure whether later ones had the Mk4 Cortina master with the TR6 servo. Many have been converted to the later Cortina master as fitted to the later M series. Geoff

In that case could also be a Capri booster, as this combination (Capri booster + Cortina mcyl) was fitted to wedges ...

I don't think it's smaller than TR6 booster though....

I fitted the same servo - you photos could have been mine the old one was in a real state too and full of fluid for years. Fitted and works perfectly.
Your sandwich plate is timber though? Mine was ali.

Did you notice the smaller diameter when you changed over to the new one ?

Yep got myself an original TR6 ali plate but having approx 3mm skimmed off it as it's a little too thick

Plate was 20mm thick so meant the studs came up too short for bolting the accelerator plate back on.

This was due to adding a closed cell foam either side to make waterproof, so removing 3mm will allow for them to be fitted and then squash right down.

The plate needs bedding in mastic so theres no depth. They did it with Plumbers Mate originally!

Ok the back of fibre board originally had a thin foam style gasket so was just copying that.
