Just so you all know the car was originally fitted with a Lotus Twin Cam from factory. The engine in the car now is from as already said Capri or Cortina GT, been allotted to the car many many years ago.
Well there's your problem and solution in one, Peter. You just HAVE to return it to factory spec... start saving! And yes, it will have to have a pair of sidedrafts... Webers or Dellortos?
Rik, it would be great to fit a twin cam in there but the chances of bagging the correct motor is probably slim, (and expensive!).

Talk to Steve @ Powercrazy on 07979231317 he is very approachable and he rebuilt the engine and fitted the jetting you have in the carb. ran perfectly last time I drove it, to be fair that was a year ago. Neil has already suggested a couple of courses to remedy already.
Good idea, thanks Perry.phazed said:

.... how much !
I just don't understand how can a Twink can cost that much - and only 130bhp so presumably a relatively moderate level of tune and not an all steel affair pushing 180bhp at 9k revs.
I now understand why the previous owner took the original twink out and put in a crossflow - same power for a quarter of the price, probably better reliability (less to go wrong) and he could make a killing selling it to some mug on ebay for a billion squid.

A full race all steel C/Flow will be 10 grand +I just don't understand how can a Twink can cost that much - and only 130bhp so presumably a relatively moderate level of tune and not an all steel affair pushing 180bhp at 9k revs.

If not a rude question, how much did the build cost?
