I wonder if anyone knows if OPD297D is still on the road.
This was the first of 3 TVRs that I owned begining nearly 30 years ago, and was the 1966 motorshow car, originaly british racing green and registered as MRK 4.
I owned it for three years from 1976, and had it re-sprayed red after an accident.
It is the only car of many, including a Taimar, 350i, Matra Baghera, and Sunbeam Alpine, that I wished I had kept, even though I sold it for twice what I had paid.
During the time I owned it, I took it home to the factory, and Martin Lilly, was very interested to see it, before giving us a personal tour of the factory.
I was in the TVR car club, and regularly went to meetings back in the days when there were only a few members, happy days.

Thanks for all your replys.
Unfortunately I did'nt keep a record of the chasis number, so can't check it on the register, though I do know that the registration number still exhists on DVLC register.
Interesting to here that it was used for racing, and is likely to still be around somewhere.

The car still exists, Chris (who bought if from you) used it for racing for a while, it changed hands again and is presently SORN'd, can't tell you much more than that.....
Just thought I should point out it was a different Chris that bought the car from you, not Chris Ovenden.

i believe that there is another TVROC list
As the archivist of the TVR Car Club, one of my roles is to validate on behalf of the DVLA all applications for re-registration of older TVR's (irrespective of belonging to club members or not).
Thanks to Mervyn Larner and a few others, the TVRCC has a very good database, it contains most cars built up to and including the wedges. I use it to validate re-builds etc for the DVLA for ALL UK based TVR owners. It makes it more difficult for people to build air cars. If the database was made public it would be difficult to validate these cars and many would end up with Q plates.
This helps to protect the value of their cars for all owners of older TVR's.
I do use our database to assist TVRCC members with individual questions as much as possible BUT, there is no way I could release whole chunks of it as this would be detrimental to ALL TVR owners.
I hope you can understand that we do this for the benefit and assistance of ALL TVR owners.
Cheers and HAPPY NEW YEAR

Mark and Simon have been racing their FIA 1800S for some years. They've done the Spa 6 hours a couple of times in it (winning the GTS11 class in about 2008 IIRC) and were out in Ecurie GTS this year as well as the Historic GP at Zandvoort. It doesn't get as much use as it used to as they now have a Mustang and a Chevron B8. Good drivers and a well sorted car.
