Just speak to Adrian Venn and buy the correct parts from him??

You will then be sure that your chosen solution will work and also last a long time

Any change that with heating it you can turn it the right direction?
Or is the only option to cut it and weld it back together

You don't even need to heat them if you want to modify Triumph ones. The ends are like a press fit so if you hold the stem in a vice and get a set of stilsons on one end you'll find they twist in situ. You can then just mig a couple of tacks where the stem meets the ball shaped bit to hold it in place and you're in business.

Alternatively, as previously mentioned, give one of the specialists a call or go the rose-joint route.

The other Darren.

I think that you will find these are friction spun welded and they facture within the weld joint (which is only 1mm thick) when turned with any tool, which make it look like a press fit (PLUS in my opinion the lenght of these is incorrect to be welded back as a butt weld) the standard link does not attack the ARB correctly. just my thoughts...Adrian@

I think that a pair of m/f rod end bearings, or a pair of female connected with a length of stud, does the job perfectly. I think it's worth spending a little extra to get decent PTFE linered bearings. There are a couple of different designs of seals available, the best ones I've seen are the ones I use on my damper mounts, they're basically a rubber boot which goes over the whole thing, they're a pain to fit though. You can also get circular rubber seals bonded onto a washer that you simple feed the bolt through to attach, not quite as much protection but far easier to fit.
