Hi

Has anyone any information on whether a carpet set exists for a 3000m. I have a 1976 model 3000m and I want to recarpet. Even a set of drawings with a few dimensions on would probably help. All suggestions welcome. I am searching for someone to do the work, but no one in the area I an from (Ireland) is keen. All suggestions welcome.

TIA

Hi, I can send you a diagram showing the individual carpet sections, but this is without dimensions .. email me via the members section.

Maybe one of the usual specialist can help - David Gerald perhaps ?

Coverdale can also make up a set, once you have templates and/or old carpets ... apparently, they made a set up recently (for someone on here ?) but didn't keep a copy to use as a template in future !!!

I recarpeted two Taimars, not difficult if you make templates from sheets of heavyweight brown paper or old not-too-stretchy blankets. (Or just bits of the old carpets if you have any of them left). That way you can also make the footwell and rear load area carpets fit exactly, and have someone bind the edges. (Remember to put your sound deadening felt in first though or the extra depth wrecks the patterns). Cut the not-bound bits oversize and trim 'in situ' with a Stanley knife. I used spray carpet adhesive and wore a mask then took a walk on the beach, probably still got a bit high though ! The binding was done for me by a carpet & rug place near Romsey/Hants, but that was years ago.

Any recommendations for carpet/sound deadening felt suppliers?

Is the carpet for a vehicle different in construction to normal domestic carpet?

Will have to replace footwell carpets on the Vixen soon and looking at all alternatives. Have had a couple of scary quotes so might look at doing the job myself.

Coverdale Carpets did my Vixen Carpets and were pretty reasonable at the time.

they are still going.
