Vixen steering wheel boss

Looking at purchasing a new steering wheel and boss kit.

Please could someone indicate what the original boss would be - TR6???

Car is 1970 Vixen S2.

Hi, I think you will find that the steering boss will need to be a Triumph Herald/Spitfire/Vitesse as this is the where the column comes from.

Think you'll find the steering column is Herald/Spitfire but pretty sure centre boss is listed as the same as TR range by wheel manufacturers that actually list that far back,fitted a Motolita wheel to our S2 but already had centre boss.

I recently had a similar fantasy and bought a woodrim wheel and Spitfire boss - which I then resold on Ebay (see http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dl )as it didn't work out on my 3000S which has the Spitfire column (and there may be the same consideration on the Vixen).

So: figure out how far "up" the steering column the new boss will fit, and check whether your chosen wheel is flat or dished, otherwise you may have to have your arms shortened.

Thanks for the help - Moto Lita wheel & boss now ordered
