Stealing pics because of the rear arch mods and glad to know more about the performance because it's always nice to have benchmarks to shoot for. smile

Is 2500 the weight with driver or is it a little chunky because of the added weight for turbos and extra transmission?

that was with driver,

it ran 108 and 13.1 earlier in the day ,this was in 1993 that was on 9 psi boost .

i then went to 12 psi ,and ran a 12.85 i think it was , but , during that run , i was beside a big block ford engine,in a pickup on slicks ,and he had open headers ,so i couldnt hear my engine ,i thought , ill just turn the water injection down a touch ,and closed the valve one notch ,the car immediately siezed up ,at about 2/3rds track ,so it only ran 100 mph terminal .it could sieze and not lock the rear wheels becoause it was using a c4 automatic ,with a clutch .so it just went to free wheel .the end result was 2 bent con rods ...eg..

amazingly , i hoicked out the rods and pistons ,cleaned the pistons up and put in 2 more rodes and all it cost was a head gasket ! .

i think i worked out that if i had run the same top end as the 9 psi runs id have run a 12.56s

and if it had been a proper 12 psi top end run i think it worked out to 12.32 s . hypothetical of course .

As a comparison, on a rarely used Blackpool seafront, our S ran a 14.03 103mph quarter mile. No rubber down on a sandy damp concrete surface. Road car with 3.3 diff, hard road tyres, 10 Psi boost.

Would expect to see sub 13 on a decent surface?

erich ,they are 7 by 15 front 4 stud , and 10 by 15 rear 5 stud .

tvr, at a 103 terminal , id think around a 13.6.. but if you had buckets of wheel spin ,it would be a fair bit quicker .normaly a sub 13 would go with a 110 to 115 terminal speed . is yours a v8 ? what bhp has it?

Lots of wheelspin Robert with 64ft IRO 2.6 secs. Car has a V6 but can happily rur 15lb boost, hence my suggestion of a sub 13 sec run.

I have a rough idea of BHP but can't substantiate so I won't try...

ah ,so a good 2s 60 ft would knock off about .7 to .8s or more over the run so thats a fair bit off ..

to run 103mph in a ton car must be about 260 to 270 bhp ?

Standard car was about 220-225 bhp? Car is modified and feels like it has something like you suggest, maybe a bit more, but to be honest I'd be guessing. It's fun and nice to drive as a sedate roof down tourer when the need takes. smile

Maybe one day Robert, but for now I get more enjoyment in seeing how quickly I can go around tracks with corners!!

Your bike project looks interesting...

Easy, step into the Tardis, go back a few years, and buy them from Compomotive. I just checked their site. Sadly...
That looks like the same style center, as the factory SE package on M cars. I'm not sure if it's the same offset.

You may be able to get someone to do a custom job from disc type forgings. CNC or water jet.

yes it created an interesting session of standing beside the car saying to my freind ,is that top of bottom end knock? ,as it rattled and knocked away ..

turned out the little end was smashing side to side in the piston,, and so depending on whether the piston was at the top, or the bottom, it was one or the other !

Thank you! These are great! They're excellent incentive, too.

I've been on the phone with The Drive Shaft Shop all week. They are setting up to fabricate a new drive shaft, and custom CV axles (rated for 600HP) and I hope to make some progress.

We'll have to start "borrowing" BMW "M" style, 6 cylinder heads, right away.
