search some pics and help for 1600M or late vixen roll bar
Discussion
Hello, not really ready to fit a roll cage at the moment, the body is not completely bolted to the chassis, and engine, gearbox not installed but soon( I change some gaskets, oil pan and pump etc before)!!
this picture is one of the chassis bolt at the rear of the seat, I think it is here than I can fit the roll bar? only bolted to?
and the rear
I have seen some roll bar pics but don't know exactly how to fit it ( with a plate and 2 U for the rear)??
if someone can help( with photos if possible).eventually interested by full cage photos and installation!
Thanks
Chris

Hi, I have a Vixen S2 and when I rebuilt it I fitted a roll bar I got from DavidGerald.
Mine bolts to the two outer holes you have shown it the first picture, these are also the mountings for the outer seat belts.
The rear mounting was not clear exactly where the positioning should be, so, I made some plates which bolt through the vertical part of the wheelarches. then I welded the adaptors directly onto the chassis rails.
This may have been overcomplicated but a roll cage only needs to work once!
Your rear mounting holes may be the correct ones for a 1600M as the chassis is somewhat different.
If In doubt call Safety Devices as I think they still have the original pattern details.
Cheers Roy

I've just had a rollbar fitted in Frome Somerset by Caged (therollbarpeople). I modified the chassis by putting in larger rear outer corner plates and plates above the dif mounting from the diagonal to outside the fore aft rail(beware of going to far and getting in the way of suspension mounting bolt access.
They did a lovely job of it. Dewi
