I have installed my engine gearbox in the vixen S4, but have never seen the original engine mounts, I have bought 2, I think the ref parts is 1463559, good for vixen S2 or S3, but in my car??? the engine is not straight!!!
Also if someone has a pic for the gearbox mount plate, I have a type 9 quaife box and have made a new plate for the gearbox mount but not sure that is correct!!
Thanks in advance
Christophe

my carbs are very near the chassis tub, I can't install a filter, the engine is a caterham prepared super sprint, perhaps the caterham manifold is not good in the tvr??if someone know!!

If you could look in your engine bay, please!!
Also, I have made a plate to support the 5 speed gearbox but not sure it is good, is it possible to fit perhaps the gearbox plate from a capri 5 speed??
I take a pic tomorrow for this plate to show you!
Need some help!!

Hi Chris,

My T9 5speed box is fitted in an S2 Vixen.

The gearbox mounting plate can be seen in the middle of the picture.

It maynot be exactly the same as yours (differences in chassis and Zetec engine fitted)

Your engine mounts look the same as my early 1600M,I am running twin 40's with Pipercross foam filters tight fit but they just rest on the top tube. Is your engine too low in the chassis? I had to fit packing pieces between the mounts and chassis to stop the front of the sump on the crossmember. The rectangular mounts I used were heavy duty Mk1 Escort from Burtons.Got a 5-speed in my S2 Vixen mounting plate is extended back to take the different gearbox mount still using standard lugs on chassis, hope this helps. Purchased some heavy duty engine mounts recently from Rally Design (01795 531871).

They are the same as Mk1 Escort Mexico and use 1 x 35mm and 1 x 50mm engine mount bushes.

Thanks for all the response, but sorry my language is not as good as I want, the height is correct but could be better (only for my carbs filter!!) and the engine doesn't touch the chassis, but the engine is not right in the chassis!!
I have bought 2 new engine mounts few months ago with the help of the very good John Upham website,
2 RHS engine mount, but perhaps not correct for the S4???
some other pics!!perhaps I need a RHS and a LHS???

If you have an idéa, my chassis is very good with no accident etc, the only things I have seen is that the hole on the bracket on the 2 side are not at the same position??
I return to the garage!!

some other photos, you can see the holes in the chassis bracket to install the engine mount!!not at the same place??
sorry it is dirty!!
