Certainly it was in the Modified TVRs group.
I saw a 280i down in the Keys a few years ago and the guy had a 350 RV8 he was going to drop in.
Shame but the car got flood damaged.

The yellow car is Series 2 280 probably an 86. Mirrors, two exhausts, extra stop light are the clues.SoCalled

With regard to soft tops in the US, I was told that although the soft makers still have the Tasmin pattern they no longer produce them. So here it is now a bespoke job! I paid around a thousand for mine.
In other words, get it done before importing.

Nothing wrong with V6, plenty of power, a great roar and an extra 10 mpg, over the V8, if you are carefull with your right foot!
Ebay have hood kits for around £350 so $500 ish,plus carriage to the USA. E as a prefix on the reg plate means 1987 or there abouts.

Thanks for the info but I need a LH drive car. When I was in the UK I was always trying to get in the right side of the car whenever I went anywhere with my buddy. He kept asking me if I wanted to drive.

I do think I would like a V8, the car will be a toy so I'm not to concerned about the gas. I'm more concerned with "G's"
I hate to say it guys but I've been thinking about a TR8. It would certainly make find parts easier and there are more of them available in the US. Any opinions or suggestions?

A TR8 in the US, could be a good alternative for more practical reasons. Thumbs up from me. I had a 1977 TR7 coupe a few years ago. It was mint, and I used it everyday without any trouble on my 50 mile round trip to work. They are really quite comfortable cars. Today there is quite a good aftermarket for them, see www.thewedgeshop.com, and they list some for sale, http://www.thewedgeshop.com/cars-for-sale.html There are a few on E-Bay right now.

Here are three suggestions:
Buy a copy of Hemmings at your local bookstore; if you are a gambler check eBay.
Try to go to the British Car Show February 17, 2013 in Boca Raton, Florida, or any of the other shows.
Join the North America TVR Car Club.
You should be able to find a 280i at a surprisinglt good price.

I wanted to get back to you with an update. After looking at several TVR’s and not being able to find a V8 except for right had drive, I moved to another car, I just bought a 2002 Jaguar XK8. It’s a one owner, 48,000 mile beauty and I can’t wait to put it on the road. Unfortunately, as I live in Upstate NY, it won’t be on the road until May.
