Appreciate I might be jumping the gun here!!

I've just checked the TVRCC North America website...and it looks like this years gathering is in May. I will have to pass on this as it is in the same month as the Spa Classic in Belgium, and I've already commited to this.

My intention would be to combine a visit to the TVR event with a vacation in the US with my wife (who only likes her horsepower with 4 legs). I'd really appreciate any posters on here who are TVRCC NA members to keep me on their radar and send me details of dates/arrangements as they become available. Thanks in anticipation.

2014 is a bit too far away right now wink

When the date is decided, I'll post it up, or alternatively, you could check the TVRCCNA.org site yourself.

Thought the request might be a tall order - but was worth a try.
Nevertheless, thanks for responding.

I did check the TVRCCNA.org site. I seem to remember that previously the gathering was held in the Fall - and thought that this might be the case for 2013.

Nick,
We operate a show jumping farm and host an all English car show September time. Englishmotorsatfairbrook is the site from Last year. Tonnes of things to do on the left coast. Looks like WW 13 is going to be held at Carlyle PA this year.

Thanks for the information.

Looked at your PH profile, and you're based in Switzerland? Just a bit confused with the American connection?

Aah - OK.
Must start planning. Missus is keen to do a US trip. She'd like to get some horse riding in - my 'treat' would be a car show!
I'd like to see the US TVR contingent, so might look at a trip next year.
Thanks for the continued responses.

Hi Nick,
I am the RO of the American TVR club Southwest. My family is from Switzerland and put that up as I am sick of this area and wish that I was home!?
Let me know if I may help with your travel plans.
Regards,
D.

'D' Thanks for your kind offer.

Early days yet though. I see reference to "Out of the Woodwork" in the UK copy(ies) of Sprint...and have been making oblique reference to it in conversation with the wife. I quite fancy a trip to the US in the 'fall' - hence my original post.

As mentioned, something combining 4-legged horsepower and 4 wheeled horsepower would tick a lot of boxes!

D,

I am sorry to hear that you're sick of Southern California. What's causing it? How long have you been here? My sum total experience with Switzerland was gained skiing in St. Moritz and Davos, so all I know is ... good, firm, crunchy, hard packed snow. You do remember that it's even colder there than it is here, don't you?

Best,
B.

Hi B,
I have been in so cal for 49 years. It has changed so much. Have tried moving in SD county, but the people are not what I like. Too many self important folks that do not give a shyte and can not drive or speak English. The family were originally dairy farmers and that has been run out due to building and tree huggers.
I travel to Switzerland to visit friends and family near lucern...Giswil to be exact. Will be looking to relocate in the next few years, probably on the east coast....West Virginia area.
Let me know when you are going to be in my local. Have an AC and Alfa on the floor at present.
Regards,
D.

D,

After 20 years in Florida, I started to be a bit of a Gypsy, for being disenchanted for one reason or another. I believe the trend you're seeing to be a larger cultural one, not localized to SoCal. At least, I've seen it wherever I've been in the last 8-9 years (could be the mirror I keep looking in, hahahaha).

I suppose that, being more rural than the places I've gravitated toward (Chicago, Seattle, L.A.), West Virginnie may be uninfected by self-aggrandizing assholes. I've also heard good things about North Carolina, and that has decent access to things automotive.

Anyway, there are no immediate plans on my horizon, for being reasonably close to your neck of the woods. Do you have any intention to venture North, any time soon? If not, maybe I'll just plan a visit.

Best,
B.

North Carolina is wonderful! A microcosm of nice people, along with a great climate. Not many TVRs to look at, but you can't have it all!
