okinchi, Yes, sorry for being rather impolite and not introducing my co-pilot and myself. My co-pilot in life was with me and she had some definite must see's to go look at, "she who must be obeyed" was pretty much in control. I saw your Taimar, very nice indeed, I wish I had the chance to actually meet you and chat about your car. But, time constraints to other commitments called and had to leave a bit early. But, very nice selection of cars. My favorite was the Wolseley "mini" convertible, the Heinz Ketchup Contest give a way car. Simply wonderful!

To all Chicago and Wisconsin area TVR owners, if you are looking for events near home, you might want to check out https://fuelfed.wordpress.com/fuelfed-top-pick-eve... , they are the original coffee and classics for pre 1980 European classics. They meet twice a month during the warmer months, April through November, mid month in Barrington, IL and end of the month in Winnetka, IL. There are some TVR owners, as well as many other British car owners, some very nice examples of almost all makes. You will also find ISO Griffo's, Alfa's, Porsche's, Lancia, Citroen, Fiat, Mercedes, BMW and Ferrari's, and you name it. Very nice and some very knowledgeable people, fun and very civilized events. Would love to see more TVR's there.

Talladega, Hi, yes, I am the one who is in Central Illinois during the week, Chicago on weekends, cannot escape for the Dec 1, meeting, its our busy season. Weekends only. But, interested in participating with more TVR owners, and it would be nice to get some more TVR's at Fuelfed events in the new year. Bring your Taimar to one of the Winnetka events this Spring and see if you like it. One member has a very nice 71 Vixen, modified four year restoration, custom interior, Rover V8 with four sets of Webers feeding it. Very, very nice. Featured in the Fall TVR Times issue. So, keep me posted as to where and when you all are planning to meet.

Best regards,
John

I also like a lot the event in Winnetka. European car only, a lot of them and a very nice corner has been chosen for the even too. I have been there twice this year with my Taimar and met the gentleman with the great Vixen.
He is also interested in the pre-80 TVR meeting and will hopefully join us for one of the next ones as well.
Talking about the pre-80, I wonder whether you know this site, started in July this year:

The creator and all visitors appreciate pictures of the cars, so if you do not mind, contact Patrick and send some pictures, location and the VIN of your car to be added in to the index.

OKinChi or Marek

okinchi, your friend Patrick in Germany has a very nice website. I saw your car, very nice. A very comprehensive site. I know he has the cars listed by model and then date of registration with the website, but it would be nice for him to be able to sort by frame number as well. I estimate based upon the frame numbers, that mine was somewhere around number 40 to be built, definitely an earlier unit.

Squashed Cat - it wasn't you at the Carmel Artomobilia in Carmel, Indiana at the end of August was it? I remember a green TVR S being there and IIRC it had travelled a distance to attend.

Unrepentant, sorry, it was not my car. There are at least 17 known ones in the US and Canada according to TVRCCNA. Did you get some pictures, would be glad to see them if you did?

Thank you for your friends website, it is very comprehensive. I registered my car there. I think it would be well worth talking to him and getting him to contact the various TVR clubs around the world to get everyone to register their cars on his site, and be able to link it with all the clubs as it is able to deal with multiple languages. It is a great foundation, as well as sort of documentation of people's cars, serial numbers. The ability to sort his site like a database would be useful.

Hi guys,
There are several TVR's in the Chi Area. Since you belong to TVRCCNA your probably familiar with them. Jarred Silver, Peter Konkel and Barry Rowe to name but a few. They also have started a monthly breakfast I believe.
Also this summer not to long of a drive from there is Mad Dog's and Englishmen up in Yipsilanti MI on the weekend of July 16th, which is a TVRCCNA sponsored event. TVR is a featured marque. See the news letter for details or contact Chuck Linn.

Hi Charlie, Thank you for the heads up and the invite, but I have not seen any news since the December posting after the first meeting. As there are several new and old TVRCCNA members, and as there seems to be no official TVRCCNA member meetings in the Chicago area to get the two groups together, at least none widely announced, I would like to invite any TVRCCNA members in the Chicago area, to think about meeting at the Fuelfed Coffee and Classics, starting in May, last Sunday of each month in downtown Winnetka, IL 8:30 am until 11:00am all Pre-80s european classics, even if they have a more modern wedge because of their rarity, they would likely be included with the classics. Each month through October. Not only would it be great to have a number of TVR's but many other rare and cool european classics to appeal to even the most hardened car event veteran. Its a very nice venue and lots of really nice and friendly people. More details at https://fuelfed.wordpress.com/events-calendar/coff...

Hi Charlie,
I am in Germany visiting - also - my TVR friends and thus late with the response. Thanks for the info about the TVRs around Chiacgo - yes, in the meantime I met some of the the owners you have mentioned.

The event Winnetka is a very nice one. No too long and not too short, with great cars, almost free and in a very nice location.
It is a perfect place for TVR's to meet!
I am IN!
