KenInOntario, absolutely, I am sure the dealer was able to provide all the paperwork from who did all the original DOT and EPA work to get the car initially certified. Can you say forged or no documents? Might explain why the Texas dealer never got the car titled in Texas after he purchased it.

The basics on TVR imports is just 25 years old into the US and 15 years old into Canada. Some cars have slipped across the boarder on less than legal paperwork but if they get in they get in.

I imported at RHD 350i 2 yeas ago and have also owned a RHD Grantura. Passing is definitely an issue but in the Grantura I didn't have enough power really. When we would go to shows with a few TVR's the guys ahead would always help me out when passing. In my 350i I tend to look down the right side of the car ahead being very sure of nothing coming before blasting by with all the torque. it takes some getting use to.

I posted a thread about 4 years ago about a 2005 Tuscan Mk2 that had originally been imported through Florida.
The car was for sale at Miromar Motors, Tampa for $100k.
When I called and spoke with Anthony, he told me it was sold.
When I said I had one in the UK and for that price might sell, he told me that some conversion work had been done in the uk.
About a year later I came across an advert for the same car for sale Celebrity Cars, Las Vegas for $300k.
When I called, again sold. Again said about mine and was told to contact Anthony, Miromar Motors.
So move on about six months and discovery said Tuscan was in an exotic bodyshop in Los Angeles.
As I was in town, I went round and asked if I could take a look.
What I found was, Yes, the correct car on Celebrity. Cars plates and absolutely no conversion work.
Even had the Speedsix engine and not the previously advertised V8.
If the owner was attempting to keep a low profile, it didn't work.
2 weeks after I visited, someone crashed a Limo into the shop damaging a Ferrari, a Lambo and the Tuscan.
It ended up on the TV and being described as "a very rare TVR Tuscan, the only one in the US".

So, my guess is Florida. smile

They told me that car had an Alaska title when they were trying to punt it on Ebay. Needless to say you would want a very long barge pole..........

Yes, I heard that it ended up with Alaska plates.
It's a lovely car (don't like it's alloys) but I wouldn't touch it with yours wink
