Hello everyone

Several current TVR owners in the northern Illinois and southeastern Wisconsin area are forming a fledgling group to meet regularly for lunch and talk about these great cars. Also intend to organize group activities such as attending car shows, vintage races, etc.

First get together is set for Tuesday December 1st, 2015 at 10:30 A M at the Volo Auto Museum in Volo, IL.

Any interest in this or future meetings?

Taladega, I would be interested, but weekends are about the only time I am free, I am in central Illinois during the week and only get up to Chicago on weekends. Midweek meetings would be tough to attend. But, if we can get the timing right, count me in. This is our busy time at work, so the Dec 1 date is a bridge too far on my end.

Could be interested. I live in Chicago and have a '02 Tuscan S. Although one minor detail....the car is in the UK so I'd be turning up in something considerably less interesting.

Chuck is the person who gave me the list of Chicago/Milwaukee owners. Detroit is too far away to "take care of us". 300 miles from Chicago; 400 from Milwaukee.

The December meeting is on a week day because our initial small group has weekend activities leading up to the Holidays. We are tentatively planning to meet again in February and will make every effort to do that one on a Saturday. We intend to finalize that during our Dec. meeting. I'll post here and in the events area when we have that info. We're hoping that by the third get together the weather may permit bringing our cars. Obviously most all of the summer events be on weekends,

Former, current, and potential owners as well as anyone interested in TVR's is more than welcome.

300 miles is never too far to enjoy like minded folks. You really should have turned up in NJ last month...I traveled from California.
Best,
D.

Tuesday December 1st, 2015 is around the corner.
So, who is in?

We have not taken the weather&SNOW into consideration. Should there be snow in forecast - I would be out. For now, the forecast predicts 45F and rain showers - and so, no problem.

Hello all
The first meeting of the Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin TVR group was held on December 1st at the Volo Auto Museum in Volo,, IL. We toured the museum and discussed TVR's over lunch.
In attendance were: Mike Budde of New Berlin, WI; Jared Silver of Barrington, IL who drove his 280I to the meeting; Marek Kiklas of Chicago, IL; and Brad Stocks of Delafield, WI.

Our next meeting is scheduled for February 6th, 2016 in Lake Geneva, WI at 11:00 AM. Exact location will be determined soon. The National Snow Sculpting Competition is being held in Lake Geneva on that weekend so it should be fun.

We intend to meet every other month during the winter and at TVR/car related events during the warmer months. Suggestions for events are welcome.

For more info on our group or meetings, post here or call Brad at 262-719-7475

Thanks

Sounded like a fun day and that snow sculpting thing at Lake Geneva could be fun to get the rest of the family along.

With respect to summer events, SuperCar Saturdays is a good event (www.supercarsaturdays.com) to tag along to. Usually lots of very cool stuff from modern exotics to classics and anything interesting in between. It alternates each month between Bolingbrook, IL and Glenview, IL May thru September.

I'd like to bring my Tuscan to the event on July 9th -10th.

I'll be driving down on the Friday before, so where is there to stay that is good? Aside from the show on the Sunday, what is happening on the Saturday? What is this Amazing Rally 6/Tour ?

Cheers Ken./

Hi Ken

Chuck Linn is the TVR Car Club of North America regional organizer for the midwest and is located in Michigan. Our group is a sub-chapter for northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. If you contact Chuck at: tvrdetroit@aol.com he has all the information relating to Mad Dogs and Englishmen @ Gilmore Auto Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. Chuck is a really good guy and will answer your questions.

Thanks for your interest and we'll see in you July.
