XK Convertible, roof noise when warm

Hi All,

occasionally, when it is warm, if I open the roof there is a granching noise that sounds like the latch/mechanism lacks adequate lubrication. Is there a guide as to what to lube/what lube to use?

The same with mine. Only on warmer/hot days (not that many in the UK). Let me know if oiling works.

Not sure if this happens too. My electric windows squeak when i drop them down but only the one that's been facing the sun!

My F Type is the same. If I have the roof down for a few hours then put roof back up I get noises that sound like the latches have locked into place . Knocks when hit bump in the road. Once roof has been up over night and settled the noise stops

Noise has gone! Not lubed anything, I'm in south of France and its v hot.

I did however change the car battery before coming down so had to do a few manual resets...

Its melted the latches in all the heat lol.

thank god the battery failed on a dry day!
