Did anybody notice that it has a 4.0 V6..not a straight six..may'be it's a typo?

I'm reliably informed that the car was at the Amelia Island show, in Florida, on a trailer in the car park. It had a 'for sale - $120000' on it, so the company who had it for sale previously must have had it on 'sale or return' commission.

I've been watching the numerous auctions for this car, mainly because I'm curious about how it was imported and where it'll end up.

It's been listed on eBay about five times in the past couple years. Between all these listings, it's (allegedly) been in Florida, Nevada, and California, and it's been offered for sale by at least two or three different companies or individuals.

They've attempted to sell it with regular auctions, Buy-It-Now listings, and reserve-price auctions. There have also been a couple attempts to generate some buzz with shill bidders -- the last auction ended with the car bid up to $276,200, and the high bidder had an eBay feedback rating of zero. Hmm.

I don't know who has their money tied up in this car, but they're out of luck because it's basically unsalable in the States.

Anybody able to do a carfax check on it? Might provide some answers?

I ran the carfax. It has an inconsistent odometer reading but that looks like an obvious cock up rather than a clocking issue. The first entry would usually be for US customs showing importation. That's missing. The first entry is for March 30th last year in Florida showing mileage of 4,513. The rest of the entries (last one is 2/2/11)are in Florida and suggest that the car was sold on 1st feb 2011 with 4680 miles on the clock.

The dealership in Vegas that is currently trying to punt the car told me that it was titled in Alaska. That does not show on the Carfax. The price on Ebay seems to have dropped from $299k to $199k. Personally I'd treat it with a very long bargepole, whatever the price.

Short update on this Tuscan saga.
Back in January I spoke with Mirabela Motors in Florida who had the Tuscan for sale then.
We later saw it for sale on e-bay and in Vegas with Celebrity Cars Las Vegas.
WE all know about the questions about its road legality and being registered in Alaska.
Anyway, I noticed that it was marked as sold and so contacted Celebrity Cars a couple of weeks ago just to get an idea of the level of interest. (just in the case that I want to sell my Tuscan Convertible).
Funny thing was I was told to contact Mirabela Motors.
Closed the loop. scratchchin

There was a Tuscan 2 in the window of this customisation/bodyshop place in LA a week ago (on La Cienaga Blvd. http://www.specialtycarcraft.com/

I thought I saw it the first time I drove past, and then on way back to the airport it was definitely there (seen from the rear, right-hand side of the showroom from the street). Unfortunately I was late for my flight & didn't get a chance to stop/look/take photos

Unclear if it was a customer's car waiting for pick-up after some work, or if it was for sale

So here is that Tuscan.
Apologies for the photo quality.
Looking slightly sorry for itself but judging by the work that body shop does on Lambo's and Feraris etc. it should soon be back to looking good.

You can see it has a Celebrity Cars, Las Vegas plate on it and who had sold it when I called last summer.

I think I recognise that air filter box smile

Yep, thats a blue cover Speed6 just like mine eek
Front off side wing a bit broke but could be worse.

So its driving around with its Speed6 engine and doesnt look like its been touched in any other way ? Interesting I think.

Have to thank the guys at http://www.specialtycarcraft.com/
They let me in to take photo's. Were somewhat suspicious which was fair enough and obviously busy so I didnt hang around.
They started to aask about spares locating and then stopped, again in a kind of guarded manner but like I say they let me in.
Cheers.
Oh, not sure I liked the mat black and mat grey Rollers they had. A bit pimpy to say the least.

It's the same one as before. It's not legal unless something has changed.
