really wish you could view on the insides of Druids somedays.
I believe you can, I'm fairly sure I read on the Oulton Park website recently stating that loads of work had been done down that way and it was now open to the public. I was planning on checking it out today but never quite got around to it but will definitly check it out on Monday. I'll post some pics soon, I've got some lovely fire breathing Aston shots.
If you mean the former, then simply follow the signs for the Woodland Walk, or walk from Chequers towards Clay Hill but turn right into the woods before you get to Clay Hill.
If you mean the latter, then you'll have to become a marshal to do that
It was a great day for racing. Not as busy as I thought it might have been. Managed to get some pics.

You have indeed, but I'd better keep my anonymity in case I do anything stupid there tomorrow.Any chance of the two Aston shots (i.e. the flying one and the group shot) to my email (I'll PM it to you).

These pictures are awesome...So much so that I am now motivated to go along tomorrow!
I've never been to Oulton before, so have no idea what it's like for spectating / photography.
Any advice on good / bad places to stand with a 300m lens and lots of enthusiasm?
Thanks for the motivation guys!

For static spectating you can't do better than the bottom of Cascades IMO as you can see them going round and up lake, back down Hill top and then fighting through Hislop's. For close ups you can get good views as they come out of Old Hall and very close shots at Lodge. Great track for viewing. Aiming to be there myself tomorrow.I've never been to Oulton before, so have no idea what it's like for spectating / photography.

I wandered around all day taking pictures, although no where near as good as Matt's (as they are great pictures Matt). Cascades is always good, Astons shoot flames as they drop into there (plus Hislops but hard to get pictures there). Outside of Knickerbrook and Hislops I though was quite good as well. And then I had a hike up to Britons (just after Shell) as you are quite close to the track as they drop through.
A number of the pictures I took (uploaded a few VW piccies for another site).

Hi there,
Went along to the first round of British GT yesterday, have shot at loads of circuits across the UK with media access but this was my first time with a press pass at Oulton Park. I have to say its one of the only circuits where you can get shots that are just as good from the spectator areas.
Heres a few from me: -
1) Lets start with the architypal Oulton Park shot
2) How about a bit of panning
3) Not sure you can get this shot from the spectator areas
4) Another typical 'Oulton' shot - Lodge into Deer Leap
5) Apparently there a job going at Oulton as a 'kerb painter'
6) Yes honestly this was intentional - took me ages
7) Did anyone not get a shot of the Aston 'flaming'
8) Another shot that took a while to get right - one of my favourites
9) The best battle of the day - there are two cars in this pic
10) Finally the Viper wasn't the only thing giving of heat I hope the weather is as good for you guys tomorrow
C&C welcome.
Regards
Tim

Not such great weather today but fantastic racing. Ginetta race was particularly close, incident packed and entertaining. 2nd half of the Brit GT race was the best part IMO because the change of drivers really made the difference, particularly the Ascari that hunted its way up from 5th or 6th to 2nd. F3 was fabulous just for the sheer speed and poise of the cars (and ability of the drivers).

Great day out. Been going to British GTs for many years at Oulton Park and the GT rules work well. Ended up watching from Deer Leap for the first time in years. Cannot agree more about the Aston noise towards Old Hall.
Standing adjacent to the Avenue watching the F3 cars diving into Cascades is quite something. I love watching Martin Stretton threading the eye of the needle through there each year in the March 712, but the downforce they're running now in contemporary F3 is stunning - total commitment.

Do you mean the side from which this photo was taken, or the side where the tyre wall is?I'll post some pics soon, I've got some lovely fire breathing Aston shots.

If you mean the latter, then you'll have to become a marshal to do that
EDIT: Just found the news story on the website saying it is open to the public: http://www.motorsportvision.co.uk/oulton-park/news...
Other than that will have to join the Marshalls.
Oh and nice photos Autofocus, no you can't get that 3rd (I think) from the normal person view point as you are to far to the right.
