Something for those of you that are interested in the engineering side of open top sports car racing.

Earlier in the year I purchased a Tampolli SR2/LMP675 chassis number #006
The car was campaigned on and off up to and through 2005, where it has stood idle since.

We are currently conducting a full ground up re-build of this car as well as adding in some newer features.
I thought it may be on interest to some of you.

Anyway please enjoy.

Do you think it ever needed balast to make the 675 kgs ?? so is it lighter than that ??

All looks mighty expensive! What series will this run in?

From what I am told they did indeed run with ballast, as to what amount I am unsure.
Stupidly we forgot to check the weight of the car before the full strip.
I cannot help but think this is going to come in lighter than 675KG, to what extent I do not know.

I will however update you once we have all four corners on, it will be interesting to see how the weight grows as the project moves forward.

No planned series as such for this car as yet, although after speaking to Alun at ISL Motorsports early today there is a possibility for the BritCar series. This is something Alun is looking into.

Nice Job on the rebuild.
You should come and race in OSS (Open Sports Cars BRSCC). Lots of other Nissan powered cars similar to yours. It's about the only place you can race such a car in the UK. Britcar will not allow prototypes.

Been approved for Britcar! SR2/LMP675 now included in the technical regulations. I received a call from organisers to confirm the same.
