Great day out - all 6 hours of it with the pit board hehe A good camaraderie amongst the team too - well done to everyone and some stellar laps by Darren and Mike in tricky conditions later in the afternoon. We really do need to try and get at least a couple of teams out in future. I'm certainly up for it but behind the wheel next time winkbiggrin

It was great fun! Will be up for it again next year.

I found the strategy side of things really intresting and trying to keep lap speed up whilst passing slower cars was very challenging.

Plenty to play for as we came P7 on scratch and p63 from 67 on handicap.

we lost 1 lap for 2 cars on circuit, which dropped us 1 place on scratch and 3 places on handicap.

we managed 139 laps ( -1) against 145 for the fastest scratch team.

Our best lap was on lap 46 at a 2:13:19 which is a 98.39mph average

Doms MG team in the same garage beat us on handicap coming in 56th

the winning handicap team had 153 laps (132 actual)

You wouldn't have needed one Tim - stints were 30 or 40 mins max and with the packed field that would've been plenty I'm sure . . . biggrin

Having been there on Sat, am interested too - maybe we could get a TVR RV8 team together to be less handicapped than this year's scratch team!

Yea put my hand up for that one. Tried to find the bloke to appolagise but couldn't. With such a difference in corner speed it's hard to judge... At the time I remember thinking it was a close call. Looking at the video I should hav waited.

It can be a difficult call, and always looks more cut and dried on video, but better in something like the birkett to err on the side of caution. You may loose a 10th or so hanging back but can get wiped out if too hasty.

Having said that I was fairly cautious and still almost hit the back of the same seat twice when he almost stopped on the apex in front of me!

Er, I think you'll find that the Civic is as entitled to be commited to that corner as much as you are, the difference being, it was in front of you!!!
