Its an odd one that, its in very original condition and a championship winning car, as such I think its probably undervalued by about 50%
trouble is as a car to run in the dtec its over priced as it would need to be recommissioned and would also need to be upgraded to be competitive in B

My main priority at the moment, is to find the time and funds to actually race the buggers iv'e already got.
(Can't make Snett but prepping the green car for some big boy action at Anglesey )
It's Chris Hodgetts' 1990 Championship-winning car and looks like it hasn't turned a wheel since then. By today's standards it's a museum piece. One for a collector, a rich curve-learner (no pun intended)or offer £15,000 tops and budget for £30,000 by the time you get to a track. Kind regards. A. Skinflint.

I reckon your right Martin (from another skinflint that has recommissioned an old car )MCR said:

Sage advice ..from the most experienced Tuscan buyer on here Edited by RetroWheels on Friday 27th June 21:39
I may have been a bit flippant in my previous posts about this car. Having now bothered to read the fine print of the ad. It did, of course, win the championship in the hands of another legendary Tuscan driver, Colin Blower, in 1992 as well (which I should have remembered as I was there!). It does, therefore, have impeccable provenance. However, apart from the need for a nut and bolt chassis/suspension/engine/gearbox/diff rebuild, it also almost certainly does not have the secondary higher chassis member and carbon fibre wall to protect the driver from a side impact - introduced in about 1994 when a driver suffered a broken pelvis after being T-boned at Donington (to my knowledge the worst injury anyone has ever suffered in a Tuscan racer). So it's probably ineligible for the Tuscan Championship as is (but ok probably for Future Classics and others). Nevertheless, it has to be one of the most successful Tuscans ever in terms of results and all achieved between 1989 and 1992.
Oops. Another correction. Colin Blower had a potentially fatal accident at Silverstone in a Tuscan in the 90s when his throttle stuck open and his car ploughed through and under the armco. However, the front of the roll cage lifted the armco high enough to limit his injuries (which still hospitalised him). Another tribute to the strength of these cars and, once again, apologies to Colin.
It is eligible for DTC, many out there are earlier cars (50% of the total number of Tuscans are the early cars) and race at the front...as I have with you Martin.
I don't think the work in commissioning would be that severe, but you would still need a big budget as besides the complete fuel system replacement, and brake recommissioning etc...
...a bigger engine is required (4.5RV8 aint big enough as I proved) AND importantly two or three sets of 18" wheels and tyres are needed!!! Big bucks indeed.
You could add a BTR diff change would be adviseable along with the later Rad/cooler conversion....Oh, and dont forget a DL1 complete electrics overhaul...
Kerching! But if my numbers come up tonight It will be out next year!

As a consequence of Tim buying the Steve Guglielmi car (and removing his Red car from sale - thereby single handedly turning the market on it's head ) it would seem that the Gulf Tuscan is the only Challenge car advertised at present.
Obviously, deals get done outside the classifieds (one such Sigificant car has just changed hands) and Nick S has mentioned his car possibly for sale..
That notwithstanding the Gulf is the only one - in Europe at least.

Would love to have you out with us in DTEC Graham and i'm sure it would be the best turned out car in the paddock with a v quick driver if my passenger rides in your Audi are anything to go by GV
I hope you are well, how is the Sag re-build going?

Its probably not going in the classifieds, as its just going to sit there until i find some time and money to move it forward, unless i get an interesting offer.GV
Its an original unused challenge chassis ( destined for a gt project that never happened.
new rear uprights, and wishbones from JR. new rear hubs, and carriers ect. 2 pot rear calipers and new disks.
4 pot front calipers, used disks.
steering rack. all new bolts and rose joints throughout.
GTF sagaris shell, screen, rear screen ( fred/ steve glynn has that) front and rear light covers.
Rollcenter cage kit
new floor mount pedal box with new master cylinders and reservoirs ( unless i use that in something else)
rear diffuser, rear wing, dash board panel
Possibly available with 6 spd sequential ( unused)
probably loads more bits I cant remember off the top of my head.
Its currently sat in the corner of the workshop and I'd hate to think how much its cost to get it this far...
