RV8 Rocker Covers

Just jumping over from the wedge area.....need to ask a quick question
the 4.5 BV lump in my wedge was rebuilt by JE Engineering years ago
I got chatting to JE when I was hunting for a bit of history about the rebuild
Anyhow, I found out they had this gathering dust on their shelf. Brand New JE Rocker Covers from the 80's, the larger / taller type to allow roller rockers
To cut a long story short I bought them as my plan is to put them on my road car (will look great all painted and polished) but wanted to know from you racer boys about "splash" plates
It clearly doesn't have any so will I need to add some is my question?
sorry if its a dub question

Nice move and finishing touch to your wedge....what did John suggest when you bought them?
....I would be interested in your old ones if they have "TVR" cast in them....

Don't you need a set of these at top of 77racing list......................http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
I was like yourself Steve was looking for a tvr branded set as fitted to the 4.3 Griffs etc (were those versions taller though? I don't know)
When these were offered I could not buy them :-) JE Engineering vs Mr Eales. But they may have been made whilst he was still there as they are that old lol

Randomly this looks like them also, recently sold on flea bay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/rover-v8-roller-rockers-...http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...
That looked like an amazing deal for some one, you can't buy the rockers on there own for less than £600 if I recall correct and that item has the posts and shafts with it as well. The covers swop hands for £250 upwards according to JE and his rockers are £625 last time any one had them on here.so that was a good buy for some one. I won't be selling my set up any where as cheap as that and my covers have the breather vents in them for racing engine so would have to be blocked off for road use and need powder coating to boot .A lot of the Land Rover off road boys buy these up as they put in TVR / wildcat engines and want them to rev.
edited to add
