I have a seat that is scratched out on 2011 on the FIA label/sticker. Are they lifed for 5 years ? and does the scratched out date of 2011 count as the first year meaning my seat runs out of date end of 2015. I couldn't find the right section in the blue book is why I ask , any help

Ok I have the answer to my own question which should help some people who need to know. Seat life is not overseen by the MSA hence I could not find it in blue book. This is delt with by the FIA direct. From the scratched out date on the seat label the seat has five years and goes to the month as well. So my seat been scratched out in 2011 means I have that year + 5 years = runs out in 2016.

Never had anyone check seat date Parry.

FIA events it will fail scrute.

MSA events will be ok out of date so long as it was originally fia spec, is undamaged, and is correctly fitted.

Should make it clear it will pass FIA at the mo,
But will fail FIA when date runs out.

I have raced with an original Tuscan seat from 2000.
