Could you gentlemen please let me know what the rates are on the springs your Tuscan's are wearing? Would be interesting to see who is donning springs that are rated different from standard. Also, what should the standard ones read?
Many thanks chaps thumbup

Thanks Perry. Are those standard rates, or your personal favoured rates?

I think mine are a little lighter at 1200 x 850. You can check with Brian on Tuesday.

IIRC, 8's and 4's were the datum starting points. smile

Thanks Grant.

Wow, then quite a sizeable difference thus far.
Any more? This is getting quite interesting. Graham, a 'long in the tooth' (let's say;)), quick racer, on softer springs.

Genuinely gobsmacked how stiff some of you are running. 800 F, 400 R when I ran the Tuscan. Only went stiffer with the Sagaris but that had a big front splitter, full flat floor and we ran it at a 40mm ride height. Even then I think the stiffest we went at the front was 1100

Aero makes a big difference to how stiff you need to run surely?

Yeah std spring rates bottom out quickly with any functioning aero, but only perrys car has (a lot) aero

Sorry chaps, I was talking out of my arse as usual smile Those are the spring rates I had when I first got the car when it had a huge ironing board on the back. They were changed to something more like the std setup.

Not a Tuscan but 800 front 600 rear . Rear ARB 28mm probably doing most of the work

Times change, and I know you say yours is not a Tuscan, but most of the original cars ran with rear ARB disconected and probably thought that 28mm ARB was heavy for the front LOL

We are going down a size on the ARB this year . Was told springs would need to be 18, 000 lbs to not be dominated by 28mm arb . Something about being only 2.5 hz ?
