Tuscan Challenge Cars
Discussion
Paul hi,
I'm not selling Mine, but it is a standard 4.5 Rover in FC, as you know the car, you know it is fantastic and at the front of Future classic's, certainly top five. Rover engine only allowed in FC and Not being Biased Dave's car would go very well and it has a 5.oLT so more torque than mine. Sounds like Daves is a sorted car but not sure of other Rover cars you have been offered. Best thing about the Rover is it is eligible for all three series that Tim has mentioned and DTEC , Combe GT, ETC if you were as quick as Tim you would be near the front in all three If you want a chat about Rover cars i'm at Brands in Future Classics on may 30th ,guess you will be there or you could bell me if you want.

Hi Paul,
When the CSCC first announced Future Classics and their intention to allow Challenge cars,we put a car together specificially for the Series.
Back then the emphasis was on the car looking good, and looking as near as possible to a "Road" going version , so minimal aero and definately no holes in bonnets.
They also required the car to run on Lucas fuel injection (of the intended road car) rather than carbs.
Probably due to the fact that there was only one car eligible they later relaxed the rules to allow carbs etc - the no holes in bonnet rule still firmly applies AFAIK.
My car runs a Griff/Chim 500 Spec , standard T5 'box ,wet sump road engine which manages to trouble the podium everytime we race with FC'S - OK ,we only ever manage to get to the Oulton Round , but it goes to show that you dont need a five figure RV8 to have a good time in CSC.
Maybe running on list 1B tyres helps, but our engine cost all of £2.5k , something worth bearing in mind if you're building a project car - good luck with whatever you decide.
For the record, none of my Challenge Car's are for sale ! - despite a money waiting, standing offer on two of them - some of us are in it for the long haul and appreciate how privelidged we are to own and race a TVR Icon
Buy now while they're still silly cheap .
