Is there a heck of a difference between medium and hard compound tyres? Can there be that much difference for the layman in a Tuscan ?

Got given hard compound once by mistake they were a night mare !

when we were at spa I could only get hard fronts, its a combination that really doesnt work on a tuscan, so yes very noticable
