good project there , just to add it might be advantageous to keep bonnet lines with no cut outs in your design ,then we can race each other at Spa in 2017 in FC once you get your signatures to up grade.

Just wondering as you do. I take it from the figures on my in the day engine that I would not be able to race in "B" unless I some how knocked off some power. Not an issue would just run car in "A" but if it is over BHP to Weight limit for "B" what was the point in excluding original cars.

my original 5.2 made 396 bhp at the crank on austec's rollers, with the weight of the car and all the data from the data logger it was 324.5 bhp per tonne at the wheels, absolutely spot on for class B at the time, but after that year I was put in A as I think PTW figures were dropped to 300bhp pt atw, also anything above 5 litres was thrown in class A, so depending on your car weight you can ballast up or go in A, My new rover v8 Guglielmi's car is only 365 bhp at the crank as its not a 5.2 so might still need some ballast to go in B, I took it out at Rockingham and it was up with all the A cars when it ran ok so not sure it would be fair for me to run in B in it but technically I think it could,

Tim I was told B class ptw is back at 325? Just a max of 5ltr now... Ours makes around 380bhp but heavier car means its around 310/315rwhp/ton. Big thing we gained going 4-5ltr was torque! I reckon your 5ltr Rover car will make massive torque if thats the power Tim!

I wish jr would stop changing the fecking p/w up and down. We're built to 300/ton and without a lot of expense ( crank/rods/pistons) i cant go any higher

Can you really actually get 400+ out of an na rover ive never seen anything close to 400.

What was your old engine built to spin to chanty.
Graham,

I posted this previously on the Mod's forum.

Supposedly the Aussie NA RV8's can produce more than 400;

TA heads + painfully big roller cam.

BCV8 guys on flat plane crank are seeing 400bhp on a 3.9 overboredd 80thou (so about 4.1?). Not the best on torque though... Wildcat was doing 400+ with his heads, not sure if std rv8 heads ever did on a cross plane crank?
