Hi all , having the clutch slave fixed next week and wondered if it's worthwhile swapping
to a lightweight flywheel , 4kg rather than 6kg . What are your thoughts . Thanks Chris

Less weight is always good, and if you had to change your flywheel anyway for another reason it would be a no-brainer to go with a lighter version. Gains are best in low gears (when the engine effectively sees less car mass) and has progressively less effect as you go up through the gears. Also lightening has no effect at fixed engine rpm, so when you're flat out at the end of a straight with no more acceleration the light flywheel is giving you nothing extra. It would help out of the low gear bend leading onto the straight though.

However, I seem to recall you're still on std 4.2 intakes on your 4.5ajp, so modifying those inlets to flow more would be about the same cost as a light flywheel, and is worth 12-15hp on the cerbs I've done it on. Potentially better value for money?
