The end of season dinner is now arranged.

The details are as follows:

Date: 17 September 2016
Venue: The Wild Boar Hotel, Beeston (On the A49 5.6 miles from Oulton Park). Post code CW6 9NW.
Tel: 01829 260309

We have block-booked 37 en suite double rooms of the 38 the hotel has. 16 rooms are 'family' and contain 1 x double bed and 1 x single bed.

Based on an attendance of 100, the price for the dinner/dance, bed and breakfast will be £93 per person assuming at least two people are booked into each bedroom. This a much better deal than in previous years.

Included in this is: Dinner, banqueting suite hire, private bar and disco as well as accommodation and breakfast.

In addition, there will be a pre-dinner champagne reception and, based on 10 tables of ten people each, there will be ten bottles of wine included in the price per table 3 x white, 7 x red). If there are more tables/fewer people per table the wine will be supplied pro-rata.

The meal will be three course and includes tea or coffee as well as the wine.

The menu has yet to be decided but the hotel can provide a vegetarian option and allow for any individual allergies.

You will need to contact the hotel directly, once you have booked, to specify any individual requirements.

As TVR will be virtually taking over the hotel that night, the car park should have plenty of space but I have also put in a request to Oulton Park that should you wish to leave your transporter etc. in the paddock overnight on Saturday this may be possible subject to the necessary security being on hand. I am awaiting a reply and will let everyone know.

We are asking for all monies to be paid into a Lloyds Bank account, which has been set up in the name of 'TVR-WILD BOAR' and will be administered by myself and John Reid.
The sort code is: 30 - 90 - 77
Account number: 00908999.

If you wish to stay at the hotel please pay £93.00 for every person you are paying for and on payment please give your name (eg Mr D Smith) as the reference for the payment. A room or rooms will then be allocated to you in your name. Remember it's £93.00 per person (all inclusive) not per room. So if you are paying for at least four people, for example, to include accommodation you will have two rooms booked in your name automatically unless you tell us otherwise. A confirmation e mail of your booking and payment to either myself or John will ensure your booking is confirmed.

On arrival you may be required to give A CREDIT CARD imprint if you wish to run a tab at the bar or use the room mini-bar. You will only be charged for drinks bought as everything else will have been paid for in advance.

For those not staying at the hotel, the price per head is £55.00 for the dinner dance only.

Again, please pay into the bank account, given above, giving your name as the reference. The amount you pay will tell us how many guests you are paying for.

So it makes sense to book into the hotel sooner rather than later because of the great price and the limited availability of just 37 rooms.

We have been able to get these prices on the basis of agreeing to pay a non-returnable deposit to block book the rooms now and by passing on payment on bookings (for rooms and or dinner dance) to the hotel as they come in.

John will be at the Retro show at Stoneleigh this weekend to answer any queries you may have.

So, book now to avoid disappointment (as they say)!

Martin

Hi this is linda just returned after 5 weeks rest in lanzarote, this message is for you Martin, as you know Geoff and I helped run the tvrs for 8 years and had a great time and met many friends, I realise to take over the jobs that Geoff and I did will not be easy.I was quite hurt by your comment that you made on advertising the new venue that you thought it was I conment a better deal than previous years, I find that weird Martin I really do not remember seeing you there probably once in the 8 years I organised it. As everyone will know out of the money for the function I thought I worked hard to give the ladies presents paid for the table decorations etc. Anyway good luck Martin its not as easy as you think, and before you criticise someone next time get your facts correct please, kind regards linda

Hi Linda,
Hope the sun was shining on you and Geoff, you didn't miss much sun here in blighty. I really don't think or can imagine that Martin was or ment to criticize all your hard work over the years. You organised a really good end of season doo that will last in peoples memories for many a decade to come, well until Alzheimer's
sets in. Hope to see you and Geoff at a race soon. XX P

Linda. I am horrified that in any way that you think I was casting aspersions on your organisation of end of season events. You and Geoff gave eight years of unconditional dedication to the championship. I was merely pointing out that the package price price per person for the dinner/dance and accommodation was less than in previous years as told to me by people who had attended previously. I apologise unreservedly if I have upset you and Geoff.
My comment was purely to encourage people to sign up.
However, the perceived damage is done. I would, therefore, like to offer you and Geoff a complimentary invitation to the end of season 'do' including overnight accommodation at my expense on 17 September. I don't think it would be the same without you and Geoff being there and, of course, we need a Master of Ceremonies. I can't think of anybody better than Geoff to ruffle a few feathers, puncture a few egos but also give credit where it is due in his inimitable style. I am not alone in thinking this. Hope to see you there.

Martin

A reminder that deposits are urgently required for the end of season dinner dance. We are in danger of losing the booking. Could I ask that all who are intending to be there deposit £20.00 per person attending and £20.00 per room to be booked without delay.

The bank details are: Lloyds.
Sort Code: 30 - 90 - 77

Account number: 00908999

Account Name: TVR-WILD BOAR

It was difficult enough to secure this venue so close to Oulton Park. Please show your commitment by making this modest deposit now. Thanks.

Martin
