Interesting class A entry particularly with David Mason bringing out his car. Great driver and a very good Tuscan. Class B is mentioned as having no cars and of course there are not many in this class now. The class B cars with Rover engines are now pretty much on par with AJP cars and quite capable of getting there. In fact I am not sure which cars fit what class despite reading the rules!!

9 Cars is not good. We do have people with damage to fix and entries have not closed yet but it is noticeable that the entries have faded away from the Championship which is very disappointing. Policing the classes needs to be resolved or people just won't race.

It is good to see all of you from Spa coming back and it does prove that if the calendar took into account the likely clashes we would have more people entering however, it also shows that there are other places that we can race our cars. I personally am getting a little disillusioned and my car and transporter are for sale, at the right price of course. It would be good if someone could dissuade me from this but the way things are going I don't see it happening and probably another Tuscan will be on its way to Europe despite BREXIT!!

Im not at snett I just dont have the time, as Im working at Le Mans this week ( off on the ferry tonight) I will be back at Angelsey and I think Dave Stewart is aiming for angelsey after his fire... With a bit of Luck Mike Hamilton will be out In class B at Angelsey too.

some of us still have class B cars built to be bang on the original 300/ton rules !!!

I think part of the problem to two fold.

1) not enough rounds so people start to do other races to fill in and find them interesting

2) not enough attention paid to potential clashes.

To be fair of all the other series and championships I get involved with The TVR still has the best craic and paddock banter.

As G has said, I'm aiming for Anglesey. Car is just about there, hoping to test at Croft on the 15th but I have a works commitment on Sunday 16th and a family doo on the Saturday...

I agree that it is sad to see mumbers dwindling. Maybe the people who participate in a lot of other series could shed some.light on what dtec needs to do to keep you guys entering? I know I do a couple elsewhere and for me it is very much calendar/time specific.

Have a good one guys!

Dave

hi Chris, I forgot you had an LS A+ for you then lol, I will always race in the challenge when I can, I have just had a few bucket list tracks pulling me away each time, I will always do Spa and American speed fest, also I love Cadwell so will miss end of year doo for that, but would never miss Anglesey
with Dtech, I am supposed to be at Anglesey instead of Snetterton but have chosen Snetterton as there are 3 races and Dtech needs the help, I just don't know where everyone has gone, there was only 3 of us who went to spa so numbers are just weak overall, the challenge will lose championship status at the end of the year if it doesn't turn around soon, that will be a shame, there must be loads of cars out there ready to race, people just need some encouragement, also what's wrong with a big invitation class to boost numbers, so any mates with race cars need inviting !! also Sags have gone? they had a great time at Anglesey last year, the challenge needs some drive and marketing on social media!!
just to add that the CSCC are a great bunch to race with, there are loads of options for TVR's of all ages and speeds, it is a very organised club with clear rules and well governed, they take no st but are fair and do listen, they also go to Spa, Bernie's V8's on the other hand are totally different, very relaxed style to running the series, really nice people to race with and some amazing cars to be on track with and of course the amazing American Speed Fest!! but I love the DTECH for the paddock atmosphere and the friendly banter and the friends I've made over the years, and of course the racing!!

It is a shame that this is happening and there is not a great deal that the individual competitors can do about it. I think there will probably be entries from Jamie Golby and Mike Blake to come so we may make double figures. I don't know what Ivor is planning but we know that Darren Smith and Dave Stewart have car problems. The Sagaris boys are about racing each other and I understand that Tim Hood is not doing much racing this year. Darren Dowling is unlikely to come out in our series unless Tim Hood does.

I believe that 5 weekends with 10 to 12 races is about right but there needs to be a stronger base of competitors. It is only natural that, as the cars become eligible for other series, competitors will enter them particularly if they are at circuits like Spa and Brands Hatch. It is important that the calendar tries to avoid clashes. Bringing in other cars or sharing with another series would produce the bigger base to build on but we also need a strong lead on regulations and a concerted effort to grow the series. We have what we have however.

It is unfortunate that we have lost Geoff and Linda who put a huge amount of effort in but understandable that they want their own life back. Their contribution to the Championship is sorely missed.

Cripes , you don't check out PH for a couple of days and it's all change !

Sorry to see Tim hanging up his helmet , but 30 years is a good gig , similarly hope Hugh doesn't sell up quite yet even though he's probably been racing longer than Tim ?.

Im aiming to be out DTEC Anglesey , not actually got to race this season - up to now , with the Rover car still waiting for us to pull the engine and the Purple AJP car nearly (but not quite) finished.

I could campaign another car, but i really need the funds to repair the broken ones, on top of which i can just about deal with a 50% attrition rate - fear of a 75% Tuscan bork factor , prevents me from entering the Snett race.

It's a tough one with race entries.. Post Challenge , the Tuscan's had hardly anywhere to race until DTEC , but these the cars are now allowed in other Series.

Paradoxically that's Great for racing TVR's ,but not so good for TVR Racing.

Not sure what the answer is .. but i'll wager Anglesey will be a big grid meeting.
