Is my memory playing tricks? Didn't he just fritter away his last couple of years at Ferrari, appearing to be rather disinterested most of the time? Ex-world champion maybe, but I have no great expectations of him - nor do I wish him doom. I just don't get the enthusiasm for his return.
I agree.I couldn't care less if he is returning.

One thing is guaranteed - even if the car is 7/10 tenths - he'll be driving 10/10 tenths out of it. Really great news.
Exactly, Kimi is still one of the fastest drivers around the track based on pure talent.Kimi really adds a fun factor to the sport being not that serious.
What I personally like about Kimi is that he is such a genuine guy and a embodiment of a typical Finnish talent who spent his youth just like many of us around here. Even after all the success and fame he is still the same guy who enjoys doing things just the same even if he wouldn't have been achieved so much.
Somehow I wouldn't imagine J.Button hanging around with his friends dressed as a gorilla.

I understand the ice cream links, but what's the deal with Kimi and bogs (or toilets if you're posher)?
He had a rather interesting interview with Martin brundle http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74kJMhqY3WQ

Please enlighten me.
not that difficult. Here is a quote from Adam Cooper about 2009 (don't think it is necessary to add anything apart from fact that Kimi scored more points in second half of the season that any other driver, in a car which developement was stopped by Ferrari)adamcooperf1 Adam Cooper
- F1 Not to mention he won a race with the rubbish 2009 car - one that Fisichella could barely drive at all...
speaking of 2008, a guy was leading championship and then team provided him with the car that had wrong suspension setup for several races. Even Ferrari technical guys admitted to Autosport recently (either September or October this year) that it was them who couldn't provide Kimi with the right car - there was an issue with warming up tyres. He still finished 3rd in a WDC standings (not 5th, not 6th).
I would agree that he probably was a bit reluctant to push at the end of 2008, but please stop repeting BS that Peter Winsor started: about his lack of motivation. You don't hear this from teams, only from commentators.

Wish him well, could have done a lot better in the WRC than he did. I hope it's unfinished business.
However, it's a damning indictment of the WRC that Kimi is trending on Twitter - and has made all the UK newspapers - yet in 2 years in the WRC didn't once receive the same publicity.
WRC Radio mentioned last year that their audience grew by millions (!) during his first rally comparing to previous years. many, many visitors on their website. But mainstream press - they don't talk about WRC whoever is driving and this is really bad. However, it's a damning indictment of the WRC that Kimi is trending on Twitter - and has made all the UK newspapers - yet in 2 years in the WRC didn't once receive the same publicity.

Don't forget Ferrari weren't particularly supportive of him either, this was most obvious when Massa got injured, it was clear they had a plan to ditch him for Alonso. They even stopped developing the car but he still got the win at SPA in '09. Fisichella's performance in the car was an insight into the effort Kimi was putting in.
Cannot wait.............
How long before one of the least motivated (& most easily bored) drivers becomes fed up of tooling around towards the back of the grid?
He got bored driving one of the quickest of the current breed of rally cars so quite how he will cope with driving one of the second tier F1 cars god only knows.
Just as potentially loosing Rubens is bad for F1 i personally belive that Raikkonen returning is also not a good move either for him or for Lotus.
Only bright side is the possibility, i hope, that Williams might now retain Rubens for a couple more seasons.
Interesting times ahead however i dont see that Raikkonen will be around for all of next season.
I will now await the heaps of abuse from his few fans!!!! Not that i actually give a toss.
It's just my opinion. Maybe i will be proved wrong. I hope so however i doubt it. We will see wont we?
