Looks like a fan made mock up.

Why do the newer WRC cars sound better than the established teams?

This is the Mini:

The Ford:

And the Citroen:

If this trend continues the Hyundai will sound like Thor gargling a hammer.

I think for 1.6t 4 pots the current cars sound great and apart from the S12b Impreza, much better than the old 2.0 versions.

And truly awesome trousers!

Here's a random thought, why does the WRC run from January to October/November? To differentiate itself from other World Championships wouldn't it be good if it ran through out winter with a big summer break (a bit like the football season does).

Motorsport always goes a bit quiet over the winter months, this would cure that and the poor conditions would suit rallying, sure the mechanics want sunny and dry but, what I want is more ice, snow, rain, fog, all the fun stuff!

Back on topic, the Polo does look pretty good, anyone know if it will be out on the Monte?

As an aside, has anyone else recently seen the video that appears to show Loeb and Sordo, both in WRC cars, racing in the UK on the public highway, including vs a Ferrari 430? Quite a watch and not something I ever expected to see! thumbup

Now you mention that, I'm sure that was the plan a few years back, but it got scrapped. Something like September to May. I'm Googling to see if I can find out!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpyClBeVMbk&fea... Ogier testing the VW.

I haven't been all that interested in the WRC since Subaru and Mitsubishi left but i really like the VW Polo, sounds great and looks good too.

VW Motorsport Boss Jost Capito explaining VW Motorsport.

As for the WRC season; it starts in mid January - and runs until mid November.... that's longer than the majority of Motorsport seasons. I don't think it needs messing round with. Anyway, from Nov - Jan includes the Christmas/New Year break, and the Monte/Sweden testing.

However, the new ERC starts 3rd January with the Jannerrallye....

Can't compare at all. One is on ice the other is on dry tarmac.

Brave, mad, take your pick. I honestly can't understand this deal. Unless he is actually being paid by Al Attiyah/ Qatar as Nasser is a big fan of Thierry.
I'd have thought another year at Citroen alongside Loeb, Hirvonen & Sordo was a much better bet than M-Sport. How often do M-Sport get it wrong??

Amazing traction he was getting on roads that looked treacherous. Would like to see what tyres they were using. Even more amazing was seeing a VW with both taillights working!
