And then there is 'Simulcam' (?) where two cars are super imposed over each other. Interesting idea, but the piece of road it covered was only about 300 meteres long, so you got no idea of whether a driver was doing better or worse.
Yeah, agreed seemed like a nice touch but not a patch on the Virtual Spectator stuff. Unfortunately with VS the technology was so tightly knit into Stage 1 Technology equipment which they couldn't get out to the rally that I doubt we'll see the VS stuff for a long time (if ever).

This lack of coverage is killing me
Me too...

However I live in hope. Since Eurosport only just got the gig they would have been rushed to get anything at all in place. It's a massive logistal problem getting TV crews out to these places so I'm quite pleased that there is any coverage at all.

Hopefully things will improve for the next rounds once they get chance to organise themselves a bit better.

No manufacturer interest
At the moment there are Ford, Citroen, Mini and from next year Volkswagen. 2010 was only Ford and Citroen.

I don't know why Skoda don't step it up from S2000. No brainer imo.

All you get is the whine from the straight cut gearbox, the (more often than not) foreign language pace-notes and a slight feeling of nausea watching the world pass by in 'letterbox' format.
I think every co-driver should be forced to sound like Luis Moya, then it sounds fast! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHJ-dxntN9o

Or James O'Brien. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgmNFACNESw

Some people say I'm a hero but really, I'm just a normal guy...

Also the guy on rally radio just said he didn't know what kind of Citroen he was looking at? confused

Haha this is so true! I remember when I was about 8 or 9 watching the rallying, and I always thought no matter who else was driving that Sainz & Moya would be way quicker, purely because he was talking so fast!

This is the latest after this morning, Loeb winning all 3 stages.

2. Petter Solberg Ford + 1m23.2s

4. Mikko Hirvonen Citroen + 3m00.9s
5. Sebastien Ogier VW Skoda + 3m13.4s

That is due to the conditions though. That and the highly skilled Ogier.

Because they're winning in S2000. No point going to WRC when they might be beaten by Citroen or Ford. At the end of the day the average bloke on the street they're trying to sell cars to doesn't know the difference.

They are stepping up....just as VW. The Fabia platform is majorly under-pinning the new Polo, which is also why Ogier is driving the Fabia alongside testing the Polo.

Now wrc going S2000 route....ooppps don't go there redcard
