Ostberg and Latvala would be my Ford team for next year if they can keep hold of the later. As much as you cant help but like Solberg he has been a massive dissapointment IMO, and has done little after being given another chance in a works team.
As for Mini their pace seems to have dropped a fair bit since last years rally France where Sordo was right on Ogiers pace, this year was a bit of a struggle. I see Hanninen is linked with them, he has good parking skills...

Yes it is only you. Marcus Gronholm was still fast when he came back for a jolly a couple of years ago, so was Colin McRae when he did the same thing.
I see the WRC website is making some positve noises about Prodrive / MINI. Hopefully they can employ atleast one good driver and then if the second car needs to be a pay seat then so be it but a full 13 rounds looks promising.
VW, Citroen, Ford and now MINI committing the a full season and SKY doing the TV, maybe next year finally sees the return of rallying?? (I will hold my breath though as I thought thi year was going to be a cracker but its ended up the worst in years!)

So Ford as a manufacturer have pulled out of WRC, I guess that means the rumour of JML sitting in a VW next season are likely to be fact rather than gossip.
To say I'm gutted is an understatement, even though M-Sport will still run the fiesta in 2013 I have to wonder just how competitive they will be against the rest as budget for development will now be harder to come by. Finding a main sponsor will now be a priority for Wilson.
VW will be the only manufacturer backed team in the series next season as Citroen are now going to be run by the Kronos racing team as a semi factory car as they were in 2006. I just hope M-Sport can still keep up with the rest.
I will still support Ford and also JML wherever he sits.

+ Hyundai for however many rounds they do.
I remember last time Hyundai were in and they pulled out leaving MSD and their drivers high and dry (bills unpaid etc), the FIA said they would face an £xx million fine if they wanted to return to the WRC.Its not surprising to see FORD exit the wRC, M Sport have always struggled to get them to renew the contact to stay in, and after years and years of defeat by Citroen, and the lack of coverage WRC gets these days its easy to see why Ford would quit their works support.
I cant say I'm surprised at Ford pulling out but I don't think its the end of the world. Hopefully the talent at Msport and Kronos still have, will stop VW steam rollering to victory. It could potentially be a good season at least you have the prospect of four different cars competing (possibly five if Hyundai show up).

..add to that sales dropping and likely to drop even further in 2013, I guess its not difficult to see why PSA, Ford and MINI are trying to reign in the costs by no factory financing but get private teams like M-Sport, Kronos and Prodrive to run the cars for them. VW are the only mainstream manufacturer who are holding up against the economic climate hence making the investment. With Red Bull now the promoters, hopefully it will allow these teams to attract major sponsers and decent drivers otherwise VW will steam roll everyone and we'll have another poor year like this one Macd355 said:
Does anyone have a link to the Group N Evo narrowly avoiding spectators on the Rallye De France? I'm sure I seen it on here somewhere.
