Mark,

Just a heads up, stricktly speaking you should use hans compatable belts.I needed new belts at donington last year so got them then. The hans belts fit perfectly into the channel that runs over your shoulders instead of pushing the belts over towards your neck to get 3" belts to run inside the guide rails.I was only asked once last year out of 22 scrutineering checks to make sure my belts were hans compatable if i was using a hans devise. Not sure with out reading blue book if it is a regulation rather than an over zelus scrut.
Hi Perry, just about to order belts as mine are about to go out of date. Did you go for the 3" into 2" type single belt, or the 3" to go over your shoulders (under the hans device) plus the independent 2" belt to go over the hans? The double belt harness seems like a load of hassle, but is it any safer do we know? thumbup

Hi Mark

I have the 2" hans specific no problems.i won't drive the car without Hans so no point not been specific with belts. As said you will need to put a 1" or so tube spacer under from seat mounting bolts just raises/lays back the seat to take pressure off you neck and back.I don't use the 3" with 2" over belt a lot of faffing about for what advantage? and i use the 6 point Harness which i think is all round good to use.

Sounds like you may Br getting the wrong hand
There are different types for different seating positions
An F1 driver is at a different head angle to the guy racing a ford anglia
Mine is a 32 degree hans as I sit very upright
Check your seat position as you like it, the hand angle I'd based on that. There's 3 common angles from memory

That's a pretty specific angle Andy! I guess that's why the makers have come up with an adjustable HD now. I was advised 20 degree for our types of cars/seats. I do like to recline a bit I think. Sounds like you are more in the Ken Block camp.

Mark, mines a 20 but the strap needed shortening as it would of done nothing in a crash!
Still finding it very restrictive but guess thats the trade off!
