Darlington this weekend. No trucks still so just nationwide and cup.

Darlington is a fairly narrow track and fast, 1.3 miles so mid length with 23 & 25 deg banking.

Cup race is Saturday night and starts 12:15am Sunday our time
Nationwide race is tonight (Friday) and is live on MotorsTV at 11:30pm

Danica is running in Cup this weekend and using using a new spotter (Tab Boyd). Reutimann has moved to the #93 and Kvapil is a late entry in the #73 Toyota. Mark Martin is also back in the #55

Carl Edwards is going to be with the ESPN team for the nationwide race, Carl is normally pretty good on TV so worth checking that out if you can.

The last time I heard interference like this on a sat channel I had to sit through 2 hours of Will Smith and an Alien Invasion.

God I love those Challengers in Nationwide trim. Gutted they're not too well suited as road cars to what I want to do with my next project, as they're tent-pitchingly awesome looking cars.

Busch was unlucky there, last two races he's done some great overtakes for the lead.
Very - after such a brilliant move earlier too. Still, that's racing.

Yet another caution, should be a nice dash to the finish.

Whoops hehe

Elliot Sadler must be gutted after a pretty strong performance to have his race end like that.

I didn't watch, bed appealed more. I'll try and catch up with it, although it doesn't seem to of been too entertaining until the last 50 or so.

Apparently a reporter interviewed Danica before the race and asked her about the Cup race being longer than the Nationwide race, the reply was "Are all sprint cup races 500 miles?"
Seriously ? she drives in the series and doesn't even know what the average fan knows ? Its easy to see why she attracts criticism.

Anyway, Darlington is still Stewarts bogey track..

Charlotte next weekend for the all-star race, trucks are back too I think.

Quite a few open wheelers do manage to get a grip, Stewart, Allemdinger for two.

Of course Scott Speed was open wheel too, but not sure he really counts given he starts & parks smile

Looking at NASCAR videos yesterday with my mates little lad (he's obssessed smile) we came across this, fantastic bit of film : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ecRZq8wdyYk 97 cars! feck me!

Kurt Busch losing his cool...again:

NSFW

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T7fabtvKtOE&nom...

And he's been fined, again:

Autosport said:
Kurt Busch has been fined by NASCAR for a pit road incident last weekend following the conclusion of Saturday's Sprint Cup Series race at Darlington Raceway.

The 2004 champion hit the back of Ryan Newman's Stewart Haas Chevy on pit road and crew members from his team and Newman's were later involved in a scuffle.

Busch had been a top-ten contender before a late spin, while Newman also spun behind him trying to avoid hitting the #51 car of Busch, but their incidents seemed unrelated to the post-race issue, which was under investigation from NASCAR.

Having reviewed the facts, the sanctioning body has issued a US $50,000 fine for Busch and has also placed him on probation until July 25.

His motorhome driver, Craig Stickler, acting as part of his crew, was fined US 5,000 and placed on probation until the end of the year for pushing a cameraman during the altercation between the Phoenix Racing and Stewart Haas crews.

Andrew Rueger, a crew member for Newman, was fined US $5,000 and placed on probation until June 27 for failing to obey instructions from a NASCAR official, while Tony Gibson, crew chief for the #39 car of Newman, received the same probation period due to Rueger's actions.
So much for trying really hard this year to control his temper.

I think he should employ DeLana Harvick to kick his ass until he sorts his head out, if she can't do anything with him he's a lost cause. Shes used to dealing with assholes smile

So here we go again, but something a little different this weekend.

This weekend Sprint Cup is in Charlotte for the All-Stars race. This is a non championship round. Winner takes home $1m.

There is actually two races, the first is a 40 lap showdown,
The race itself has a special format and qualifying system. Rather than me type it all out you can read the details here: http://www.jayski.com/stats/2012/all-star2012.htm or here: http://www.sbnation.com/nascar/2012/5/16/3024848/n...

Trucks are back too, they are in Iowa along with Nationwide

Tune in Schedule: http://www.nascar.com/races/tune_in/

Nationwide race is being shown on Motors TV Sunday at 10pm.

Anyone watch the race last night? Sadly I was working at 6am today so had to miss it, luckily there's a nice chap on Youtube who's uploaded the whole thing. Must admit, my Apple TV is really coming into its own here, rather than use my laptop to watch it live, I'm watching the Youtube video on a 32" TV in 720p! Not going to spoil it for anyone, so here's the link to the first segment (links to 2, 3, 4 and 5 all contained on there too, just click through) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noFEFdOQ_tQ
