I've been watching Danica Patrick in the Nascar Nationwide series, 8th last time out at Texas, her best result so far. Do people think she could win a race this season? Her colours remind me of Cole Trickle's car in Days of Thunder!

Win a race ? I dunno about that.. maybe with a bit of luck.
Her sprint cup seat is looking a little easier with Reutimann putting the car up in 16th during qualifying.
Allmendinger on pole, Harvick, Lonago, Hamlin and Mark Martin round out the top 5.
I believe Logano will have to go to the back due to an engine change.
Smoke is 23rd :-/ says on twitter the car is faster than that but we'll see.
EGR boys had a shocker down in 36th and 39th.
Truck race is about 65 laps from finishing, piquet just outside the top ten.

Sorry these are newbie questions:
- What's the difference between the Nascar sprint cup and nationwide series?
- Joey Logano and James Buescher each won a race (in nationwide), why are they on 0 points?

NASCAR introduced a rule in the beginning of 2011 that forced drivers to only register for one of the top three championships; so if you managed to win all thirty six Cup races, but were registered for the NNS, you'd still have zero points!

Sprint is the premier series, nationwide is the lesser. Nationwide cars aren't as fast and have different body styles.
Bit like 1st division vs 2nd if you like.
There are a number of other NASCAR sanctioned series too like the K&N Series.
Far as Logano / Buescher go I believe there is a rule that says you have to nominate which series you want to earn points in. Logano takes his in Sprint Cup, Buescher in trucks. I don't know what the exact rule is but have asked elsewhere.

About half hour to green flag. News from the track is it should stay dry but its cold, only in the mid 50s, they expected temperatures about 20 degrees higher.

Looks like there is little grip out there at the moment.
Montoya is up 17 places. Logano also moving up through the field nicely.
Stewart was tipped to come to the front pretty quick, but he's gone nowhere.

lets try that again then some real close racing, Stewart still absolutely nowhere, JPM up in to the teens and was fastest car on the track before stops.

is it just me or is the Premier sport feed a pile of crap tonight? looks like I am watching it on windows 95, on a lap top, on dial up internet!

Bit late posting this week.
First trip to Richmond this year, no trucks, but nationwide is back along with cup.
Cup race is 7:45pm ET tonight, so 0:43am Sunday morning here. Mark Martin on pole in the #55 with Carl Edwards beside him. The usual suspects are somewhat down the order - Brad 16th, Stewart is 22nd, Jimmie 27th, Biffle 28th. Bit of an upturn for JPM in 20th who out qualified his team mate for the first time this year (I think?)
Nationwide race was last night and was shown live on motors TV. It is being shown tonight at 7pm. No spoilers but I'm told its a cracking finish. Travis Pastrana and Danica are in this one.
