I remember, they didn't have a rule to tell him off with so they made one up for the next race. NASCAR has a slightly different approach to regulation creation and stability from the MSA hehe

Premier Sports have increased their deal with Nascar and will show the Sprint Cup series for the next 2 years and will also show selected truck races to be voted for by viewers via social media. http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/104271

Interesting, thanks for that.

So here we go then, 3 champions to be made this weekend.

Truck race is tonight, starts at midnight.
James Buescher just needs to come home 7th to win the title. The chasers are:
Timothy Peters (-11)
Ty Dillon (-12)
Joey Coulter (-29)
Parker Kligerman (-37).

Nationwide race is live on MotorsTV at 9pm Saturday.
Ricky Stenhouse will look to secure his second NNS title before joining Sprint Cup next year. He needs to finish 18th. the chasers are:
Elliot Sadler (-20)
Austin Dillon (-25)

Cup race is Sunday, green flag at 8:15pm our time.
Brad Keselowski is looking for his first title, he needs to finish 17th to beat his only chaser, Jimmie Johnson to the title.

All three leaders can make their title bids easier by either leading a lap and/or leading the most laps for extra points.

So who are you rooting for this week ? Can Sadler make good the disappointment from last weekend and steal the NNS title ? Does Ty Dillon have a chance ? Can Brad keep his cool ?

Apparently there is some other sort of race going on in Austin.. not sure what thats all about hehe

+Sadler cos I used to like him when he drove for Wood Brothers way back when but think its too bigger mountain to climb. Dont like Dillon dont think he should be using the 3 number. Dont mind Stenhouse, not sure if he will make the grade in cup though.
Would like to thank Crafty for his posts during the season, probably would have missed a heap of races without him.

Just one thing, where can I buy Miller Light in the UK? I Asked Brad last night but no repy as yet!

Whassat you say ? the #48 to win ? hehe

I'm going for Brad too, I think his journey in cup from the "krashalotski" tag to today is amazing.
He starts (effectively) from pole as Logano #20, Biffle #16, Smith #51 and Hamlin #11 to the back, all in backup cars.
Biffle and Hamlin were running close together in practice, they got together and collected Logano (he must be getting used to that lately smile ), not sure what happened to Smith.

Congratulations to James Buescher for the truck title, Ty Dillon had a good go - more to come from him I think.
NNS was only last night, so spoilered: And to Stenhouse for his second NNS title in a row. he was disappointed not to win last night but with 2 titles and a cup ride next year he will get over it I'm sure!

Good news for Aussies, RPM has re-signed Ambrose and Amirola for next year. Lately it seems that Amirola has started to find some form, would be awesome to see the #43 take a title again (big ask though!).

Brian France held a press conference yesterday about the future, for 2013:
Sponsor names allowed on the roof of cars
Drivers surname to be written at the top of the windshield
No sponsor or car number decals on lights because lights are seen as distinguishing features. Rear car number moved to bumper.
Example (thanks to Jayski):

No specific details were given but he mentioned a "digital cockpit", possibly for 2014. This came about during a question about Brad using a smartphone whilst in the car. Seems they are looking at providing live telemetry from the cars during races. I guess we'll hear more on that next year.

I'll be doing double duty with F1. Lewis & Brad wins please!

I suspect the only reason they dont want the phone in the car is that NASCAR have not worked out a way to get revenue from it unlike the incar coms and cameras which are obvioulsy sold on as part of the TV deal.

well it all got a bit nail biting for a time but great result for the cup, ironic in the extreme for the race win though. Reckon the 48 could have won that, not sure he would have won the cup mind. Well done to Brad and all the Penske team.

Agreed a good result , Roger Penske can be happy to accomplish his goal. He`s been around motor sport as a driver ,team owner ,supporter , etc for a long time, also plaudits to the number 2 , well deserved.

Good to see Bowyer ignore the temptation ( temporarily ? , revenge a dish best eaten cold !) to extract pay back to the race winner and a most welcome apology from Gordon who stated his regret in the way he handled last weeks episode.

Fantastic weekend of racing, at last I got to see jeff gordon win a race after twelve years (yes he's won other races but watching it on tv doesn't count for me)

Brad played a careful game till he ran out of fuel but 48 let him of the hook

Shame for the #48, but I don't think he would of taken the championship, Brad set out to be cautious and I think it would of seen him through in a good enough place.

So, 13 weeks until the Daytona shootout, I hate winter hehe

thats funny as there was a time when ever I went over for a NASCAR race, the 24 would always win.

is that on the cards then anytime soon?

Great thing about the 2 car winning is that its still the same sponsor/team/number as when I started following NASCAR. Think only the 24 car is the only other constant I can think of and that one even has the same driver to boot. The 18 still runs Interstate occasionally though.
I used to like the old "household name" sponsors such as Tide and Kelloggs.

Pleased for Brad, Penske (especially after Kurt/Allmendinger problems), and Dodge. Also happy that a non Hendrick (or affiliate) took the title.

Not a clue but he's been driving the DuPont Chevy for twenty years now and while he's had two wins this year he's nowhere near as competitive on track as he used to be, having a family may have made him take less risks on track
IMHO (the 20th anniversary paint job wasn't my cup of tea either but the win made up for that)
