Unfortunately I can't make it to LM this year, but I'd like to go just to see this go.
Anything this radical is interesting and whilst I don't fully understand how they are going to get it to handle, I have no real reason to doubt the people behind it.
Seeing this sort of thing at LM is wonderful. I've not gone as much as I used to in recent times as the Diesels bore me to tears and the lower categories whilst more interesting, haven't really lit my fires either.
Seeing innovation like this is a reason to go, so more of this radical thinking please!

But the diesels were/are innovative?

The same can be said for petrol?
I am a Le Mans regular, and seeing the diesels (even hearing them..sometimes) is just the same as petrol! (in the sense that they are mega quick, make a unique noise, and raise noise to tail when need be).
The LMP1 cars looked fantasic (you dont see the engine!).
Anyway, its going O/T- but the diesels seem to get a hard time, when in fact they deserve some credit for being so far ahead of the curve in terms of development.

Just seen the video of Marino Franchitti driving it, he looks very tentative getting it round corners. I'm guessing it's still not as stable as it needs to be.

Surely a design like this will be fast in the straights but very slow in the corners.
Have to hand it to Nissan for thinking outside the box though, suprised it will be racing at this years LM too, cant wait!

Some interesting detail shots over hereI think it is great to see something a bit different actually going for it. Full credit to everyone involved - I look forward to seeing how it goes

How refreshing, hope it beats all expectations.

When I first saw the design I thought that it was going to under steer like crazy, but having now seen the videos it looks very stable through the corners so I am impressed. Looking forward to seeing it at Le Mans now

winning through fuel regs isnt new - the Mazda 787B wasnt the fastest but had an endurance advantage because of the regs, and the diesel Audis just outlast everything else, too. This could well have potential.

Great to see some original thinking.
And from the ACO too! That's refreshing.
However I can't help thinking that all that rear-bias on the weight - presumably countered by ground-effect suck at the front - is a backflip accident waiting to happen?

If the nose lifts it will expose a far greater area of floor at the rear of the car than the front, so it's possible that the air resistance might actually stabilise the car in such an event. Hopefully they won't be crashing it though, so we won't get to find out!

Interesting to see something new and novel being actively encouraged (unlike in other branches of motorsport). The efficiency claims do sound quite bold (optimistic?) to me, but time will tell. Article said: ...putting all the mass behind the centre of gravity... Errr,... no.

Kind of looks right...Best of luck with this. Great that Nissan are backing this concept with a Juke engine. Slightly surprised that the Cd is .24 GTR is .268.

the most interesting point that stands out to me is;
they're using a 1.6 turbo - which is going to be what is going to be used in f1 in 2013, so in theory, they could get a year of data and improvements, making a rather nice platform for nissan to either sell engines to f1 entry teams or enter themselves.
from the looks of it as well it doesnt take much for the thing to become an f1 car, im not up on the regs too much but im sure this is all being considered.
watching this space avidly
