very hard as I could easily pick 5 f1 cars or 5 sportscars but I had to cover all bases so....
Lotus 11 and Lotus 49 - either should get me into pretty much every historic event going, Monaco, Nurburgring oldtimer, Goodwood, Silverstone....
Bugatti T35 - For the VSCC stuff...
Porsche 962 - For the Group C revival series and a Le Mans classic entry...
Ferari 250TdF - I realised I would need something road legal for historic rallies, enduros, Tour Brittania, Panamericana etc

I'm picking ones that I can relate to from my time watching motorsport. 1. Vauxhall Cavalier chassis 022 http://www.supertouringregister.com/register/vehic...2. The 2009 BTCC-winning BMW 320Si, mainly because I've sat in it and would love to drive it! 3. Aston Martin DBR9. The looks, the noise, the heritage. 4. Aston Martin Lola DBR 1-2. As number 3. 5. Volvo 850 BTCC. I'll always remember going to my first BTCC race in 1994 and the howling 5-cylinder engine ringing through my ears.

Vocal Minority said: Maserati 250f Jaguar C Type Lotus 49 That was almost my list. I'd keep the three above. I'd swap the Alfa for this: and the Ferrari for this:

Alfa Romeo 33TT12 - funny-looking car with some of the funniest drivers driving it. Lancia Delta HF Integrale - ugly but purposeful. Jordan 191 - may not have been the fastest, but it's the most beautiful F1 car I've seen. Ferrari 312 T2 - when I close my eyes, *this* is the F1 car I see. and the Glickenhaus Ferrari P4/5 Competizione - lust, greed, covetousness, all the sins in a four-wheel package.

Took some choosing. First up alfa gt car. Next silk cut jag, the number of time's i swapped for the other 2 in this pic, cars 3 and 2, then the green jag, that was also at goodwood, but settled for this one. Audi i think its an imsa car from the usa, the board said 1000bhp in qualifying trim. Speaks for itself. Last up Sierra from down under.

Hm, difficult considering I like far too many race cars, but I'll give it a try -Ferrari 250 GTO -> wrote a story on the one that spend years in a field some time ago, see: http://www.theretromobilist.com/historic-racing/11...-Aston Martin DB4 Zagato -Jaguar D-type -Toleman-Hart TG185 -Mazda RX-3 (because of the insane rotary engine soundtrack)

I'm sure we did this quite recently
I'm also sure my selection is different, but I cant recall 100%
Porsche 935/78 Moby Dick Porsche 908/3 Porsche 917k (Salzburg blue colourscheme) Lotus 72 (1973 spec) Lotus 79 (Ronnie's)
I could have listed about 50 Porsches let alone F1 cars!
