Plus Grosjean has been left for dead in those few races with Alonso in Renault, and that it is the only time we can compare him to another F1 driver(inside the same team). Isn't this the 2nd case of a "smaller" team being afraid to win this year tho?? Sauber in Malaysia radio call to Perez to protect 2nd place when a win was on the cards.....RG was much slower behind SV as KR was gaining at a second a lap, but no team orders to switch places. The possible gain of 1-2 seconds KR could have had into SV's lead was worth the gamble to push SV into punishing his tyres and forcing him to either pit early or slow down to protect his strategy. Just as shame they did chose to settle for 2nd/3rd, but understandable.

Considering what happened to the tyres last race it's understandable that Lotus/Kimi were very conservative on the long last stint. Seb doesn't get much love on PH but another faultless race from him earned him the win.

My point is that Lotus/Renault seemed to be happy to settle for points rather than a win. The history of F1 is about winners, not those collecting points, if you cant win then you settle for points and move on, but to me at least that didnt seem to be the case in this race for Renault/Lotus. KR certainly had the pace to at least get upto SV's gearbox, other races this year and JB in Canada last year, showed SV isnt so good under pressure.

Brilliant performance from Kimi. Given the chance I'd love to see mark webber get a win, he just seems to be second fiddle. Kimi will get a win in the next few races for sure, I love his attitude, get in, race, done, no bulls tting about it. He's comparable to Casey stoner in the way he races.

I'm with those who don't understand why Lotus settled.
Kimi would've had Seb if he was given a fighting chance.
That said, the one time he got close enough to use the DRS he backed off when it came to crunch time. If he'd stayed right then he'd have flown up the inside. Instead he pulled off the gas and went left and then screwed up the exit on the run up to turn four.

Maybe.... or maybe he would have sailed up the inside and crashed into Vettel, throwing away a solid result and leading to everyone saying Kimi is 'race rusty' or hasn't 'got it' anymore... etc etc. Split second decision could have gone either way IMO. I think what cost Lotus the race was not getting Grosjean out of the way quicker and then not pitting Kimi a lap earlier than Vettel for the 3rd stop. Also, screwing up qualifying didn't help. Imagine if Kimi had of been top 5 on the grid....

I think what cost Lotus the race was not getting Grosjean out of the way quicker and then not pitting Kimi a lap earlier than Vettel for the 3rd stop. exactly, they should have asked Grosjean to let him go (after all, it slowed both of them down) and then also pulled Kimi in a lap earlier rather that wait for Vettel's stop, with a good out-lap on fresh rubber he could have got the jump on him, all with far less risk then punting it up the inside from way back.

They interviewed Kimi's engineer in the forum, he said they had the edge over Seb with the first sets of tyres, but Seb had a fresh set in the last stint to keep Kimi at bay.

I hope you took pictures, you could probably sell 'em on ebay. And his tattoo is cool We have signed photos of Iceman 1 and Iceman 2, his bikes. When we asked if he would mind signing them his face lit up (as much as any Finn's does ) and we must have spoken for a good 5 minutes, which is about 4:45 longer than anyone else about brandishing another Ferrari picture did.

Hmmm.
Got slated on here for taking two bets quite a while back. Kimi to win a GP this year @ 250-1 and to win World Champoinship(!) this year 500-1. Nearly all good fun and in good spirit but one poster in particular was stupidly rude - you'll know who you are. First bet not looking so daft now eh? Second was always just for a laugh.
Come on lad - win me £25K!

Come on lad - win me £25K! Slated by the foolish. I think anyone who follows F1 would be blind not to realise that Kimi has serious talent. Well done on getting those odds - if I'd realised they were that good I would have had a punt myself!
