Perhaps seeing the TV rights of a sport you love being sold down the river to an organisation part owned by people you might despise isn't of importance to you but it may be to others.
The whole sport is owned by someone that most right-thinking people despise. If your famous morals can cope with that I don't know why you have such a problem with Rupert Murdoch.wolves_wanderer said:

I can see his popint and agree with a lot of what he says.
However, we have been so spoiled fort so long that I am happy to watch F1 however I can - and I am old enough to remember the days when we got no coverage.
I feel about the same way Eric , ok it was not live this weekend but for me i just an not see how any broadcaster could do better than the BBC's coverage However, we have been so spoiled fort so long that I am happy to watch F1 however I can - and I am old enough to remember the days when we got no coverage.

The sooner he is behind bars the better.

Well go and read your book or two then get back to us.
I was meaning that I would need to WRITE a book or two to list the impacts he has made.I am absolutely convinced that a large aspect of the "dumbing down" and "de-moralisation" (in the true sense of the word) of British society has been very largely driven by the tabloid press and at the vanguard of this has been the Murdoch press. I know there have been lots of other social factors as well but Murdoch definitely has been extremely influential too.

My interest has never been stronger tbh..thanks to the New F1 channel
Thank you Sky
Qualitatively I'd say it's about the same, BBC a slight edge having done a few seasons.Thank you Sky
Quantitively Sky wins.
My interest in F1 is equally at an all-time high but that more to do with the nature of 4 winners from 4 races and no-one clearly dominant than the coverage.

Are You saying you do not know the damage Murdoch has done
I'm saying that he isn't public enemy number 1 nor deserves the mantle of "reason why Britian has gone down the toilet" as per Eric's opinion.djstevec said:

If you are going to put quote marks around what you are alleging are my comments, do make an effort to quote accurately please.
You've heard of paraphrasing right? I said he was a factor in the decline of morals in the UK. I didn't say he was the cause of it.
And if you can't see the influence his media outlets have had in helping destroy this country, then I put it to you that you might be one of his victims.
Right now I am listening to his son justifying e-mails he sent to the culture minister prior to the minister deciding that it was OK for Murdoch's company to own 100% of B Sky B.
The organisation he works for and his father owns stinks to the rafters and I will dance with joy when both Murdochs are removed from their positions - which is going to happen sooner or later.
Expect Jeremy Hunt to fall on his sword pretty soon.

This is your quote about Murdoch;
"I think you will find he is the biggest and the baddest of them all - and the one who has detrimentally affected British culture most deeply."
So I think Gaz.'s paraphrase of your own quote was pretty accurate.
