Is anyone else finding that this season, despite the apparent closeness of the field, that due to its lack of live availability that you're losing interest? I for one don't have sky and just can't excited about watching highlights or a repeat. I have probably missed 2 gps live in last 10 years but I don't even know the the race starts on Sunday whereas last year I would have known the week before!
Is it just me?

Not really losing interest. I'm able to keep up to speed (not a pun) by lots of ways and means so no real need to feel cut off.
Compared to how it was up until the late 1970s, coverage is still pretty extensive.
The politics surounding the sport can be annoying - but that isn't exactly a new thing either.

Online is the solution. This year is looking like it will be interesting. Very mixed up, 3 winners, 3 different championship leaders this far. All looking good for a close season.

I wasn't bothered at the start of the season TBH however now that the European races are almost upon us I am getting interested again.
I will not be a Red Bull walkover this season, Vettell can't race or defend his position very well as was proved last weekend, Rosberg should now be a force to be reckoned with & I foresee a big battle between Button & Hamilton this season.
My only gripe is that because I refuse to pay Murdoch anymore money I get frustrated having to wait for the BBC highlights.
However Bahrain is live on the BBC so tha should be a good race assuming it isn't disrupted in some way.
For what it's worth, & I don't want to turn this thread into a political rant, I an not sure that the race should go ahead.
No doubt I'll get criticised for that statement however it's a purely personal feeling.
Hopefully though the race will be run without incident. Here's hoping it will be.

I remember when getting to watch a GP was difficult, if not impossible. Matters this year may be a little less convenient compared to the last few years, but it still pretty good.

No problem...thought i was having selective blindness looking at the TV guide. - To answer the OP - I don't like the inconsistency of having to watch either SKY or BBC. I could watch SKY for all the races, but I don't like the production. Plus I can only watch SKY on the laptop. Their is much more excitement in the house when its a BBC race over a SKY race.

I think the change in times is the problem. It almost always used to be on at 1pm on Saturday and Sunday, now I never know when its on.

Matters this year may be a little less convenient compared to the last few years, but it still pretty good. F1 doesn't need to worry about hardcore fans, they'll watch it no matter what, but make life difficult for the majority who are less committed and viewing figures will soon start tumbling and that is a big problem for F1. Though they seem to not give a monkeys about it.

Has the potential to be a classic season: 6 world champions, 3 winners so far and the prospect of more seems highly likely. The tyres, DRS and KERS mean that it isn't a case of the order at the end of the first lap being more or less the finishing order as it was a few years ago. So - OP - to answer your question - nope! maybe it is just you!

Is it just me? Losing interest? Emphatically no! This year the racing has been fantastic and there is lots going on. Thoroughly enjoying it. But getting very frustrated because I can't access live coverage of Practice, Qualifying or Race. The move to Sky has really pissed me off as I won't pay for it even though I am a big fan of Formula 1. It does make me feel better that people don't like the new programme coverage on Sky but I'm sad that the BBC coverage had to end - I enjoyed Brundle et al over the past few years and the new model just isn't quite as slick. I also hate highlights of anything; I want to make my own choice about what I highlight!

As a guy who used to get really annoyed if I missed any race or qualifying session (regardless of what unholy time it was on in the morning!), I've found I've lost a bit of interest. I'm certainly not going to be getting up early anymore - I can't watch half the races live, so what difference does it make adding a couple more to that list? Don't get me wrong, I still absolutely love F1. The real test is going to be when it clashes with the BTCC coverage - that decision used to be a no-brainer, F1 always won. This year I'm not so sure....

Online is the answer. I watched the first two on BBC highlights, third BBC live and I'm watching this one live online. Have to admit I've missed Brundle.

Not at all, it's been a great season so far. Though I did lose touch with whats going on in kabaddi when channel4 stopped covering it.
