This remains one of my all-time favourite videos. The opposite lock at 0.56 is just insane.

That is the one, isn't it? There's some great clips of films out there, the Senna ones, Schumacher on a qually when he's tweaking away at the brake balance, that Jurgen Alzen clip is a great one, there's the Derek bell ones from years ago, the Vatenen 'Dear God' and Pikes Peak films...

but this McRae one has to be the best for me, of a driver absolutely 'On It' in a massive way and for a long time.

Brilliant.
yes

Solberg's stage record run through Ouninpohja comes close too:

But that McRae clip takes the cake.

This is a favourite :-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRqgsoxlR8k&htm...

Also Zanardi chasing down Bryan Herta at Laguna Seca back in 1996. Best known for THAT pass, but he'd had an off a few laps earlier (start of the clip), then chased him down relentlessly :-

Not to mention Rod Millen at Goodwood :-

The McRae clip was my first choice but being beaten to it, this comes a very close 2nd for the sheer cajones the guy's got, spends at least half the lap on oppo!

A long time ago I saw a clip of J P Montoya in his Cart/Champcar days doing a lap of a street circuit, I think it may have been Toronto but I'm not 100% sure and this thread made me think of that. he's millimetres from the wall on every turn.

The McRae calls are absolutely to be expected on this thread, but I expected this clip:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9MpSKTuYLY

I was standing on the left at the second jump as he went by, with a press pass. biggrin

I'd like to nominate Ari Vatanen at Pikes Peak

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGaYz5aLegc

Or Nobuhiro Tajima also at Pikes Peak doing the 1st sub 10minute climb (technically yes it was only because more of it was tarmac than ever before but still committed)
