The initial section on the Nordschleife at around 1.50 almost looks like the video is speeded up - brilliant stuff biggrin
Probably the best video I've ever watched, absolutely mesmerized! The noise, the power! Oh. My.
Not bad either

Well scratch off an hour to youtube and its endless supply of links to videos of the days when women looked like men and men had time to blow dry their hair. I think my defintion of on it, would be the video of Jacques lafitte in the Matra during practice at Monza 1978, when he gets over taken by a Mclaren I think, which sounds like it breaks the sound barrier as it rips past at the beginning of the start finish straight. This seems to stir Jacques and is decidedly on it for the next few corners til he backs off after I presume he over revs it. see what you think. the Mclaren goes past at around 2:30 mark.
Enjoy!

"In the 1967 Italian Grand Prix at Monza after starting from pole, Clark was leading in his Lotus 49 (chassis R2), when a tyre punctured.

He lost an entire lap while having the wheel changed in the pits. Rejoining sixteenth, Clark ripped back through the field, progressively lowering the lap record and eventually equalling his pole time of 1m 28.5s, to regain the lost lap and the lead.

He was narrowly ahead of Brabham and Surtees starting the last lap, but his car had not been filled with enough fuel for such a performance: it faltered, and finally coasted across the finish line in third place."

Sennas Monaco pole laps probably come the closest on four wheels, with any number of rally onboards deserving honorable mentions.

Yebbut, it could be argued that Vale learned that trick after this last lap spat with Sete Gibernau:

Jerez 2005

Did that race finish Sete as a top flight rider? I'd say yes.
