McLaren have always been championship contenders while Lewis has been there though, every year most of the rest of the grid would give a lot to be in that seat.
2009?

His worst year(so far), but managed a couple of wins in that car plus a few podiums, which is still ahead of 'most of the grid' wink
Moving teams can be good, can be bad, he could possibly sign to redbull, just as Newey signs to Ferrari..

can't see that happening so long as RedBull have a chequebook...

they would rather pay him to sit on a beach if he won't design cars...

I kind of meant how the balance of power can change between the top teams and it's tricky to be in the right place when the music stops.
But who knows, maybe Mr Newey could be tempted to work at Ferrari before he retired.

mclaren or red bull are the only choice for hamilton (in reality)

red bull doesn't look likely, he needs to sign with McLaren and have sensible exit options. any deal with red bull would have to be tied to Newey. the team are too young and new otherwise. McLaren and ferrari are the only sensible long term options.

In what was essentialy a B-spec car introduced in Germany, hence the season of two halves.
