Good chance of a Schumacher win here I think this weekend, hoping for a battle between him and Raikkonen.

I'm going for a Mercedes pole and a top 3 in the race shared between Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari. Renault will be up there, perhaps ahead of Red Bull.
Very similar to my thoughts - Merc pole, McLaren win (on recent form at the circuit), Merc, Ferrari and Renault Lotus wink thereabouts.

I've not looked at what the weather is likely to be like yet!

BBC now listing coverage as

Saturday 9th June 2012 (Canadian Grand Prix - Qualifying Highlights. 22:30 to 23:45

Sunday 10th June 2012 22:30 to 00:30 Canada.Highlights. Lee McKenzie presents highlights of the Canadian Grand Prix from the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal
BBC TV Guide confirms that BBC1 will be showing 2 hours of Canada Highlights on Sunday 10th June 2012 from 22:30 to 00:30, which is much better, with Snog, Marry, Avoid on BBC Three at 01:30

However, the BBC Sport F1 page is still showing it as being 60 mins highlights on BBC1 and 120 mins on BBC Three at 01:30 in the morning.

The left hand really doesn't have a clue what the right hand is doing.

I am concerned about the revolting students in Quebec; they have declared their intention to disrupt the GP. I'm sure we'll see at least an attempt to pull off some cock-eyed attention-grabbing stunt on Sunday.

Grosjean pole, Raikkonen win. Knew they wouldn't perform in Monaco, and they had a bad weekend. Think Mercedes will do well, and Massa'll return to his usual place, around 13th or so.

Mayby the reason for bbc not showing this live is what happened last year when the race didn't finish till 10pm and people complaning it had disrupted other programs. Mayby they didn't want a repeat of last year even though it properly will not rain this year.

I predict lotus to be strong here very similar track to barhain long straight and slow corners where they did well, same as merc and red bull.

Mclaren hamilton will qualify well and button will be bottom of the top 10 and during the race the team will do the best to drop them down the grid.

Ferrari alonso will drag it around in the top 4 and massa will be mid pack with sauber being the best of the rest.

Should be a good race i will watch the highlights as im going to oulton park for the btcc otherwise would end up watching it at the pub with some food.

Indeed, the last thing F1 needs is a student splattering themselves all over the track after some ill though out publicity stunt where they don't really appreciate the speed of F1 cars.

As for the race, surely it has to be Lewis or Lotus' chance for victory... lets hope so, I want the 2012 Fairytale to continue!

Canada usually always produces an entertaining race....especially when it pisses down! Another one like like last years would do just fine, even with the hour+ interval.

Latest betting on-line shows this Canadian GP is one of the most open for years. They are going around 4-1 ( Hamilton ) and upwards the field.

Shot in the 'open' dark at this stage but based on more recent form, excluding Monaco which is rarely a reliable form guide, for both qualifying and the race, I expect a good showing from both Lotus and Mercedes ... particularly the latter. Yes, a seventh different winning driver has to be on the cards with these four 2012 season non-winners in with a good chance: Hamilton, Raikkonen, Grosjean and Schumacher all in with a good shout on most recent form.

Be a good race to watch ~ usually is ~ and the BBC have missed out more than a tad not showinmg this one live ~ so much in it's favour not least timing in UK.

BBC don't want it because it interferes with Antiques Roadshow and Countryfile I suspect. Sunday afternoons are much better for them as they show F1 instead of some crappy old film.

Saw a quote that said Massa will be taking much of his Monaco setup to Canada as he feels he can drive the car when its set up like that, so he may be able to redeem himself yet..

So maximum downforce, extra steering lock, and a 160mph final drive? That'll work really well. biggrin

It is down to the F1 fans at the track to issue some proper on the spot beatings at the first sign of such stupidity.

Yes indeed.... smile If only it was that simple ... wink It's not Monaco though.

What this means is that we again have a very open race until one of the teams has a car emerge consistently a tad better than any of the others.
